Watched Inglorious Basterds like a week ago. Surprise, it’s really fucking good. And Hans’ negotiations with the Americans really reminded me of Richtofen.
For those not in the know, in exchange for Group 935 scientists, Richtofen requested the US give him (among other things): an American hotdog, a pet monkey, a cosmonaut suit (the one he wears in Ascension), a lunar lander in Kino, a faberge egg yolk, a bottle of Stalin’s vodka, a portrait of him in the Pentagon, a Baseball signed by Babe Ruth, $20, ten pennies, four nickels, two dimes, two quarters, four 1’s, one 5, one 10, an American Teddy Bear, Theodore Roosevelt’s mustache, etc…
Now, such negotiations were done in real life, but still.
