I was having Bluetooth issues (had to forget and re-pair my Xbox controller every time I used it). I googled it to see if there was a fix. It started working fine and hasn’t acted up since. Starting to feel like I was being trolled.

Internet speeds get throttled all the time and will stop throttling when tested. Learned this a long time ago so the exact details are a bit fuzzy rn…

I’ve been having this problem the last few days. Speedtest says almost 400, steam says 40 or 60.

Solar flares have been wild as of late.

I swear ISPs know when you run a speed test. They’ll gradually drop your maximum speeds hoping you don’t notice. People that are curious and notice will do a speed test, ISP sees that traffic and bumps you back up to the speed you’re paying for. Just to gaslight you and prevent the support call.

TCP reset and DMZ your PC on your router

Seeing the “slow” Internet once more let’s me realize.. Germany is a sh*thole when it comes to anything modern.

The thing you should know by now: there are hundreds of people around you who do not pay for the internet. They instead borrow your internet. They in fact borrow many of the available wifi in the area (if you live in a city) forcefully, without your knowledge. After all, if you don’t use your internet when you’re at work or when asleep, many others can still have use for it, to download stuff and redistribute stuff freely. This happens no matter how complex your wifi password is, unless you use some fringe method that one in a million people use, mostly the IT folks. This just happens. Even your computer is a part of it. Windows runs stuff in your background all the time. It’s part of the network that’s set up not to serve you, but to serve everyone who can access it. And many people can access it.

Used to have that issue myself, turns out I had an out of date router. If you care about internet speeds, routers need as much attention in terms of upgrades as your graphics card does, even when using an Ethernet cable.

I regularly get about 15 to 20 percent faster than I paid for, sorry for siphoning the internet from y’all.

You’re not getting it back though😂

    Last night I got 67 MB/s, normally between 4 – 7 MB/s.
I pay for 200 MB/s, yeah, living in a third world country kinda sucks. Love from Germany

Everyone in this thread massively overestimated the typical ISP’s technical capabilities.
