Talking with the Clouds AI.
Act 1 had made me think I understood how hard this game was gonna go. But the conversation at Clouds is when I realized it might be one of the best pieces of *art* I have ever encountered.
So, not plot-related shock, but I think “holy shit I had no idea it was *this good*” counts.

The whole thing with Yorinobu at the end of the Devil ending.
Me sitting there thinking Panam is about to die on my first playthrough right as a bullet goes through her stomach.

For me this is easily when Reed killed the Cassel twins. Instantly made me realise he and the NUSA are no better than the average NC street gang. One of the big reasons I decided to go with Song towards the end of the DLC.
