Honestly looks fun but consistently having two other people to play with in my current gaming circles just looks like a no go. Also a little disappointed at a singular overland map.

  2. If only they added support for ultrawide, I would have got this game years ago.

  3. PossiblyShibby

16:9 60 FPS with no cross play or comms in 2025 is crazy work.

  4. Forgive my naivety, I’m not into the Elden ring genres, but Is this just Helldivers: Elden Ring edition?

  5. Its also “Mixed” on Steam. This is their worst game in a long, long time. Its massively overpriced for how little there is in there as well.

  6. gimmesexytimes

Wanting to love it but not really liking it thus far.

I had more fun on the network test. Whatever changes they’ve made makes it feel like you can’t have a good moveset and weapons and such.

If this is what Duskbloods is gonna be like, I’m out.

  7. I don’t really follow Soulborne games, I actually thought this was DLC for Elden Ring until yesterday.

On steam it has a 65% which is pretty wild from what I know of the franchise. Though it seems like folks are only complaining about how required the multiplayer is and how it works, and apparently the performance on PC.

  8. Pichucandy

Lol all the people getting scammed thinking its elden ring 2 but its just a bandai namco cash grab.

  9. Had an absolute blast with 2 friends last night. It’s tough and requires good coordination. Playing solo with randoms sounds miserable.

  10. FromSoftware fans genuinely believe their beloved developer can do no wrong

  11. Voidfang_Investments

I just started playing the original release and the game is fucking nuts. I hope publishers see how important it is to make a good product.

  12. Yharnam_Blunderbuss

Oh no, so we can expect more of these types of games, instead of Fromsoft sticking to their strengths?

  13. Practical-Aside890

The erdtree dlc did around 5m the first few days so I expect numbers to reach around that. Can’t say if it will be higher or lower but time will tell. Either way good for them. I don’t/didn’t expect it to be a “flop”. But I don’t expect it to do as good as base Elden ring. But these are good numbers for a day. Some areas haven’t even been a full 24 hours I don’t think.

  14. no shit, it’s riding the coat tails of Elden Ring. Issue, it’s not even remotely on the same level of quality or experience. going to hurt good will for the franchise but some people will like it

  15. No_Construction2407

No ultra wide, locked fps, nobody knows what they are doing and there is zero way to help them because there is no way to communicate, it reuses ER assets, this honestly could have just been a $15 DLC at this point.

  16. From really should just ask Bluepoint to do their tech backend haha

Just finished my first run and while very different past games it was actually pretty fun! I don’t see myself playing it for a very long time overall a fun little side game.

The comments in this thread on the other hand are fucking crazy. Huge chunks of Reddit. Like damn the doom posting is crazy but I have a feeling a good chunk of those posts know this isn’t going to be the standard game for from but they just like to be negative. Way too many people think From is never going to release a single player game again. Because of two smaller games that are different.

My friends have been begging me to buy this game but I’ve been vehemently against it cuz there’s nothing appealing about it. It’s just cash grab asset flip to ride off the Elden Ring hype train but tellling the truth gets you downvoted. Unfortunately I don’t care about fake internet points. It only sold as much cuz it’s got the Elden Ring name. If it were anything else but the exact same game, it wouldn’t even sell 100k units. Sparking zero sold like 3 million units in the first day or something and it died 3 weeks in.

  19. Wellhellob

Honestly im worried fromsoft lost its focus after the massive success of elden ring. I hope we get next gen dark souls or sekiro. I have zero interest in nightreign.

  20. People buy From games no matter what, like Blizzard games back in the days.
Hope the ending is not the same.

  21. NotsoSmokeytheBear

Absolutely technical mess with a shallow and boring game underneath.

  22. MrBoognish

This game was made for my friends group. There are about 6 of us that have all been playing From Soft games together since BloodBorne. I’m that guy who definitely would not have gotten through ER without my boys by my side. I took out a few bosses solo, but it was always more fun with friends.

  23. No_Professional_5867

It’s funny how much reddit hates this game lmao.

Hell, they take the time to bring up the French parryslop game in these threads too for some reason.

    Weirdos. Hopefully bots.

  24. DoubleShot027

It’s fun but I don’t like how fast it is you always feel rushed.

  25. Rathalos-487

For comparison, Expedition 33 sold 3.3 million copies in 33 days.

I’m fortunate I have two friends to play with consistently (technically 3, but the third doesn’t mind being left out, he hates Soulslike games). This game seems like a nightmare solo or with randoms.

There’s just… If you’re going to have a multiplayer focused game where the entire game is on a timer, you really, really need some QoL added in, and this game has just *slightly* more QoL than Elden Ring, not nearly enough.

This game needs a functional ping system, a “Go here” or “Wait here” or “Come to me!” or whatever. It needs voice and text chat. It needs a countdown timer to the storm. It needs a big pop-up and an audio cue that says that the storm is coming (SO many times we got ambushed by it because the alert that it’s coming is super tiny and subtle). It really should have some passive FP regen too, I don’t know why they removed blue flasks and didn’t change that.

And then duo queues. Why is there no duo queue? That’s just insanity to me. And why can’t we group up in the base to hang out, gesture at each other, duel, whatever?

It also lacks so many graphical options. No ray tracing? Even Elden Ring had that. No DLSS, no framegen? Locked at 60 FPS? No widescreen?

So many little things that just leave me *confused*. It also very much feels like another Elden Ring expansion, but I guess I paid like $35 for it so I’m not gonna complain too much about that. The price is right.

I played it, I had fun, but so much of it felt like it could have been BETTER.

    “Playing with randoms sucks”

Join party chart, or make some friends. Problem solved.

Stop being afraid of social interaction.

  28. ZoomiesWitch

Good, this game has been a blast so far. Eagerly waiting to get off work and play some more.

  29. matttinatttor

I’m having fun playing it. Obviously it’s smaller and has some launch-related performance issues, but it’s a lot of fun compared to some other $40 games.

Elden Ring Nightreign Leased 2 Million Units in its First Day

I fixed the title for you, OP. Don’t forget that these days, we don’t own our games anymore. They can take away your license to play it at any given time for any reason.

  31. LoneRedditor123

Proving once again that From Soft fans will buy literally anything they shovel out, even if it’s not all that great.

  32. algustfinn

Where is the guy who say that 500 concurrent players was nothing what matter is unit sold!!

  33. The_Womb_Raider6

It’s criminally overrated. I enjoy FromSoft trying something new but this isn’t it.

  34. DrNarwhale1

so stupid how this outsells doom, people really need to hop off the fromsoft gangbang train
