Such good memories playing this.

I really wish we had more superhero games with a robust character creation and customization, the only other games that fit that bill is that one *Saint’s Row* and *South Park: The Fractured But Whole*, which is rather bizarre. All the other superhero games are either licensed property, or you play as a default character with limited powers.

So I’ve got two kids who I recently gave the game guides for both of these games. They read like crazy and they like video games so I thought they would get a good afternoon of reading from it.
Well they took the ball and ran with it. Now they sort of role-play the game by calling out the moves while jumping on the trampoline and acting like they got hit by moves. Both are FULLY in the Villain category. If they earn some computer time over the summer, I might try and get them set up. 😀

I remember working at GameStop when this came out, it was crazy popular and we had the trailer playing quite often.

all my friends went to CoH when Sony fucked up SWG – was a decent game.

Glad this is still around. Wish someone could do something similar with Marvel Heroes

People have already mentioned homecoming, but there are other alternatives as well. My personal preference is the Rebirth server, as it’s closer to how the game was. Homecoming has had several changes I don’t necessarily agree with, but I can’t argue if you care about population it has the largest.

I remember seeing the vids for these on gametrailers. I wish I could find those vids again. There was one where one guy was sick of being a hero helping noobs so he wanted to be a villain, and then he kept getting rejected but eventually helped out a group of villains and they turned out to be noobs and the guy was annoyed.
To be 9 again

This game was so ahead of its time.

The thing that I loved about City of Heroes is the traversal powers were just *fun*. Jumping around the city was great. Maybe not Spider-Man levels of web-swinging awesomeness but it was a blast.

Any unofficial RP server (Virtue) vets from the early 2000’s around?

CoH was the jam back in the day. What was that 20 years ago. OMG so many nights of fun and leveling up and stacking the rings to get ultimate power. Grind with a huge smile

The character creator alone was a lot of fun
You can. Officially licensed servers are here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/
This game has community run servers and they just released a new content update https://forums.homecomingservers.com/getting-started/
I TRIED SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS GAME WAS THE OTHER DAY – Thanks!!🙏🏽
The COH editor was awesome. Half my friends spent more time making characters than actually grinding.
There was also a game called Car Wars
you are gonna be soo happy when you see all responses but yea what they said !
