Say a character in a story has implants that allow other people to borrow her body like a surrogate. How would it be to have your face take on that person’s expressions? Your voice change drastically if the person has a unique dialect?

In most cases of media, the mind of the proxy completely turns off while being “puppeted”, and thus they don’t really *experience* anything.
If you want the character’s mind to be aware, but unable to do anything but silently observe… That would probably be quite traumatizing, just seeing your body do stuff, without being able to provide any input whatsoever.
