Tagged NSFW just in case. How many of you have played this game? I played it on PC like 15-20 years ago, and have never met anyone else that has. Such a good game.

UE5 remaster/remake, that would be so great. I remember buying Deus Ex and FAKK2, first 2 games for my first real gaming PC.

My dad had this on his PC. I remember being utterly confused and not being able to advance much farther than the tutorial.

I’d love to try it again now that I’m older.

  3. I can tell you that I certainly *wanted* to play this game when I saw it in magazines all those years ago but I never did…..maybe it’s time to live that unfulfilled childhood dream

I can only imagine the game is somehow worse than the shit movie.

I played this! The controls were so weird..

I played this game a couple years ago. It was pretty cool. Very atmospheric. The gameplay was a little dated, though. IIRC there were some platforming sections that felt kinda unfair.

  7. I remember playing it. And also remember it beeing frustrating. I did not come far before i gave up.

I played the demo from the PC Gamer demo disk!

This was one of the first games I played that had a customizable freeplay mode. You could load levels and spawn in enemies at your pleasure.

Hell yeah. I was maybe eleven or twelve when this came out.

I was a huge Heavy Metal fan growing up, both the mag and the movies. I recall FAKK2 being ok.

  12. Fun fact: This was the first ever PC game released in a DVD case, rather than as a CD case within a larger cardboard box (per a magazine I read at the time at least).

Ahh the movie.. that was my first time getting stoned.

    It was AWESOME

    Awesome menu music!

    FAKK2,
    coming at you,
    Heavy metal fire,
    Feeding my desire!

I also have a sound clip from the game options dashboard seared into my brain – “mm, tweak my knob” 🤣

  15. I played this around when it came out in the early 2000s and remember it being a ton of fun. Recently watched some play video of it and i clearly dont remember anything that i thought i did.

I played it, and I’m pretty sure I beat it. I remember some later levels being pretty bullshit, like Psychonauts Meat Circus levels of bullshit. Pretty enjoyable Quake3 engine game but not incredible.

  17. It was mediocre game at best and it was buggy as hell if i remember right. But you know.. Titties

  18. Don’t remember much about it, other than some very suggestive scenery and machinery. Great fun tho.

It was surprisingly fun. I remember the female protagonist getting less and less clothes the more the story progressed 😅

If anyone interested, painter Luis Royo is an author.

The 2 handed weapon system was great.

I didn’t love fighting flies in the first part of the game, and I remember thinking the end boss was a little too difficult compared to the rest of the game (although this was 20+ years ago, so maybe I was just a scrub back in the day, I dunno).

Typically great Ritual Entertainment level design. Some fuck ugly 3d models even for the time, but I remember thinking they were pretty well animated, especially a few of the death animations on larger enemies.

Ritual’s Ubertools for Quake 3 was created to add a lot of single player functionality for this game, and licensed out to most single player games on the Quake 3 engine. Alice, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, the original CoD, etc.

  22. *~tweak my knobs~* in the settings was something else.

I happened upon a copy at a second-hand media store a few years back for $1. I just recently installed it but have only progressed through the tutorial. It seems like it has a significant number of traversal mechanics, similar to Tomb Raider IV, which was more than I was expecting from what looked like a simple third person shooter.

I’ll need to get back to it and give it a proper playthrough. I’m not typically bothered by early 00’s jank, so hopefully it’ll be a good time.

Saw the movie, read the [comics](https://www.simonbisleyart.com/galleries/fakk2/), played the game.

Honestly the game was better than the movie, and some of the game realted art (the [cool gas mask skulls](https://media.moddb.com/images/downloads/1/20/19632/fakk2_ritualistic_patch.jpg), not the Julie Strain stuff although that was great too) inspired my own teenage doodles for years after.

But, you know, nothing compares to the original Heavy metal film from 1981 this was supposed to be a sequel to, so it was always kind of a disappointment.
