Context I've just finished cleaning my laptop and my dad screwed the screws back in but I think he got them wrong, my laptop model is Asus F17 FX707ZM

    You put long screws in the place of the short screws.

    I recommend seeing if these protrusions match the location of the screws, if not it’s just a support for the screen not to touch the keyboard that every laptop has, if so see an Image of a laptop of the same model but new, does it have the protrusions? If so, guess what… If not, then I think you now have new supports so the screen doesn’t touch the keyboard when you close the laptop, congratulations on the purchase

    That’s why I like Dell. Screws from bottom are fixed to the screw sockets. No way to replace it. Dell B>

    Haha, bro, you got baptised by fire) I got the same thing when I upgraded my first laptop. Put a sticker on it and it was unnoticeable unless you touched it. Good luck to you with your future endeavours, don’t let that ruin your enthusiasm!

    A lesson to remember where the short and the long screws are designated to go. You’re lucky your dad just bulged into the plastics and didn’t short anything

    Unfortunatly wrong size screws that almost punctured the palm rest. It happens sometimes.

    The screws were either massively overtightened or else the screws were put in the wrong holes (long screws in short holes and vice versa).
