Context I've just finished cleaning my laptop and my dad screwed the screws back in but I think he got them wrong, my laptop model is Asus F17 FX707ZM

Wrong screw length or screws done too tightly.

  2. TheLysster

He got them wrong indeed, he put long screws in short holes.

That’s what happens when you tighten the wrong screw in the wrong hole…

Couldn’t this also be some sort of standoffs so that the monitor does not touch the keyboard when closed?

  5. ImaginaryMuff1n

This is why it’s important to remember where each, that’s different to the others, screw came from.

  6. XeonoX2

Same happened to me when I used too long screws

  7. 3bood_Al7assan

You put long screws in the place of the short screws.

I recommend seeing if these protrusions match the location of the screws, if not it’s just a support for the screen not to touch the keyboard that every laptop has, if so see an Image of a laptop of the same model but new, does it have the protrusions? If so, guess what… If not, then I think you now have new supports so the screen doesn’t touch the keyboard when you close the laptop, congratulations on the purchase

Correct answer – too long screws

That’s why I like Dell. Screws from bottom are fixed to the screw sockets. No way to replace it. Dell B>

    Mind your screw length people
Some things are too long for some holes 😆

  12. SumonaFlorence

You, without a doubt, put the wrong screws in the wrong holes.

  13. Rumbo21

Haha, bro, you got baptised by fire) I got the same thing when I upgraded my first laptop. Put a sticker on it and it was unnoticeable unless you touched it. Good luck to you with your future endeavours, don’t let that ruin your enthusiasm!

You screwed the wrong hole. Now you’re screwed.

  15. pantas_aspro

Someone did put longer screws there.

    OwO what’s this? :3

A lesson to remember where the short and the long screws are designated to go. You’re lucky your dad just bulged into the plastics and didn’t short anything

  18. Jack_Claude_van_Ban

Unfortunatly wrong size screws that almost punctured the palm rest. It happens sometimes.

You should kick you pc master

  20. runed_golem

The screws were either massively overtightened or else the screws were put in the wrong holes (long screws in short holes and vice versa).
