I got an old, broken and incomplete typewriter, so I decided to turn it into a PC!

A few days ago, I got an old dirty typewriter. It was pretty unfixable because somebody had opened it before me and some important parts were missing. So, I decided to do something with it. My first idea was to make some 8 bit computer that runs BASIC or something similar. However, I realized that the case was big enough to fit a small atx motherboard in it! I decided to do it. I checked my spare parts and I found h110 motherboard with missing PCIe x16 slot, i5-6600, 4 GB DDR4 (that one stick is my only spare), GT635, 240GB SATA SSD, 200W PSU, WiFi card and a of course working built in keyboard! (It would be probably more cool if I had a some high end compontents) The keyboard from that typewriter is a simple matrix, so I interfaced it with the help of Arduino Leonardo. The layout on keys is old polish layout, but in reality I decided to map the polish keys to standard US keyboard keys. Missing special keys are mapped to the special keys of that matrix or a combination of two keys. The components are mounted inside with some help of hot glue. Don't worry; it's not permanent because hot glue is soft and can actually be removed later. The GPU can be swapped because it's not glued. Since the motherboard lacks a PCIe x16 slot and there isn't much vertical space, I used a riser to connect the GPU. The 200W SFX PSU provides enough power for the entire setup. To show that it's working well, I'll link a video of me doing a WPM test on it https://files.catbox.moe/kpcgky.mp4 (free ASMR, managed to achieve 137 WPM).

I'd say it's a pretty cool looking machine. It was fun to make. Literally the best PC to run Microsoft Word…
