They say you still need to run DLSS in 1080p on a 5080…

4k DLSS Ultra Performance might not even work perfectly then.

Well they even list 8K requirements

  2. EndlessBattlee

I find it funny how the AMD and Intel GPUs are just marked as N/A in the 8K UHD column, lol.

  3. schniepel89xx

Absolutely atrocious system requirements chart, wow. The fuck does “RTX 2070/RTX 5060” mean? Those are pretty different cards. Even worse, “RTX 3080 Ti/RTX 5080”? The 5080 is like 60% faster lol.

The 8K column is wild. AMD and nvidia both say to use FG when you’re already at 60 FPS. We all know 30 FPS + FG has a 0% chance of not feeling like asscheeks. Using a third party technology without heeding the vendor’s instructions should be considered a straight up software defect. Genuinely why even include this column, 8K is already braindead and if you also need FG to do 60 FPS just don’t even bother.

Also, the day that a 7900 XTX doesn’t shit its pants in a path traced game, much less match a 4080, is the day that I become Pope.

Settings today for the hardware of tomorrow. It’s actually good to see, it increases the replay value of games in the future when we have hardware that can easily run this

  5. Guardian_of_theBlind

dafuq is that chart? Like why does it say rtx 3080ti/ rtx 5080? Those two gpus are in a completely different league.

And seriously pathtracing is still more a tech demo thing or a thing for people with way too much money. Normal players can just ignore it and the rest of the requirements look very tame.

  6. First-Junket124

Curious how it is when it comes out. System requirements are just too funky nowadays, so many variables with so many presets and settings on different resolutions.

I use these as loose guidelines and so should everyone else.

  7. kapybarah

I don’t believe anything on that chart lol it makes zero sense

  8. BobbbyR6

One last meh for the series, huh?

Maybe someone who gives a fuck will get the development rights going forward.

1080p 60fps low settings on a 1060/570? That seems too good to be true. Kudos to them if they pull that off. It’d be nice to have a game that’s playable on a 1060, but utilises increases in graphical power all the way up to a 5090

People don’t seem to understand how crazy path tracing really is. It’s amazing that we have the chance to play games at interactive or even realtime rates this year.

If you follow the first ray tracing paper from like 1978 and project Moore’s law unto their render times of 78 minutes. It would take untill the year 2022 to do 2ms frametimes. and 2016 for ~16ms… Which almost matches what we got.

Path tracing is a different league still

  11. AdAutomatic6973

Good to see my 3080 still holding up

  12. brondonschwab

    Baffling system requirements chart. 3080 Ti/5080?? 2070/5060??

Path tracing can’t be as demanding as they say if it even runs on a 7900 XTX

  13. DestinysHand

    1080p High….RTX 2070 or ..5060.

Them comparing that old gpu to the literally just released 5060 is hilarious.

  14. dztruthseek

Looks easy enough to run. I would be highly surprised if I could actually run path-tracing without Frame Generation.

  15. LemonOwl_

    1080p 60 with upscaling requiring a 5080 is crazy

  16. prophet2-6

Either way most games published by EA have trash optimization. I wonder why.

  17. zBaLtOr

OFC its path tracing What you expect that shit, eat the pc like a beast

  18. NeonGlue

The graphics in the F1 series doesn’t evolve much at all recently. There’s only so much realism you can put in a F1 game.

And yet they’re still trying to make this game needlessly demanding.

  19. comelickmyarmpits

Lmao can b580 really do 4k 60fs? Even with upscaling?

I find it really hard to believe

  20. 1080p with DLSS Q at max settings – buy 5080 LOL

  21. StewTheDuder

And this is why I tell people to worry about RT, at least PT, in a few generations and stop making it a consideration when buying a card. The games with forced RT or causal RT, most cards can run just fine. Buying a card for PT RT rn is a waste of money. Turn that shit off or down and enjoy yourself.

  22. kikoano

So Path Tracing on just 1080p needs 16GB VRAM…

  23. This chart is a mess. 3080 equals 5070Ti wtf? 4k 60fps RT B580 wtf? 60 fps with FG wtf? 7900XTX equals 5080 at PT and can go 60fps PT wtf?

  24. GlobalHawk_MSI

If 6800XT is all you need for 1440p High for **144 fps**, I wonder how Ultra goes for it and my GPU lol.

  25. WoodooTheWeeb

Decade old computer for 1080p(low)60fps with no upscaling is the real eyetreat that we should look at in these days

  26. ASx2608

I can’t wait till Daniel Owen shits on this whole graph

  27. What do you mean my 970 and 4770 aren’t enough?! But seriously i narely miss the min reqs, an almost 10 year old PC could run this at 1080@60… that’s nice

  28. nonexistantchlp

Honestly it’s not that bad, they’re supporting 9 year old GPUs for 1080p@60fps which is perfectly playable.

When Crysis launched you would be dreaming to run it in a 9 year old GPU

My 6600gt got barely 30fps on 800×600 and it wasn’t even that old lol. The pentium D was already obsolete when it was barely 3 years old

  29. Zakon_X

Let me tell you, it is and worth it, my 4080 chugging at Monaco but it looks real af

  30. Electric-Mountain

Hey look, another RT game. Can’t wait for people to complain about their 10 year old 1060 not being able to run this.

  31. Main115702

A F1 Game is the fucking last Game I would use PT on. I want at least 120FPS without any FG.

  32. EdzyFPS

I don’t even know why they bother shooting themselves in the foot with these requirement charts. They are very rarely every accurate, never mind when things are complicated with multiple variables like pathtracing on/off, ray tracing on/off, upscaling on/off, framegen on/off etc. etc.

Hardware configurations are just far too vast for these things to be accurate.

They should just list the absolute min hardware you need to run the game at stable 60fps 1080p native max settings ray tracing off, and call it a day.

  33. HatesBeingThatGuy

DLSS in a racing game… Oof, nice try devs good effort but that is a no go.

  34. Linkarlos_95

They better put a warning in the graphics menu or else some people will complain about how they can’t max everything in 4k with their 5 thousand bucks pc and throw an unoptized review
