If you notice the actual ammo counter portion of it, it supposed to look like the bulb from a Nixie tube clock I’m pretty sure. That or the bulbs from the wonderwaffe. edit: sorry that’s actually about the shadows of evil hud

I always assumed it was a little engine/generator with the front panels made from the same metal plates as the walls by the catwalk in The Giant, implying it was developed by Group 935. Meant to be some sort of power supply for the Annihilator after completing the EE. I doubt they thought too much about it though, they likely just needed something to match the HUD’s shape from multiplayer and imply d-pad functions for gobblegums, shields and extra equipment.

It’s what happens when they actually put artistic thought and design into a HUD, it’s not supposed to be some recognizable object or something, it’s just materials that fit the theme of the map.

I liked to think it kinda looks like the teleporter pad

I’m not sure, but damn… I miss how much character the Zombies HUD had.

Maybe it converts souls to points? Like how the WWII characters have a little device that siphons the Geistkraft out of zombies.

It sort of resembles the robots to me, so I always assumed it was likely inspired by group 935 technology. It likely isn’t anything specific, just a hud element that’s cool
