My friend and I met by chance on Instagram. He was working on the visuals and the code but needed someone to write the story. I got hooked right away by the pixel art and the vibe. We started building the story together and ended up with something completely different. The art has changed a lot over time, but the name Deep Pixel Melancholy has stuck from the beginning.
We’re making the game in our spare time, with no publisher or investors, and we still get super excited every time someone connects with it. We’re hoping to finish it by the end of the year, though there’s still a lot to write and draw.
Still, we’re pretty sure we’ll get there. Making a game on your own is tough, but the feeling of seeing it come together is totally worth it. It’s the kind of feeling you just want to share.
