Another reason why I always root for PGL. They actually waited until the last resort for 9Panda for Copenhagen Major. Blast were just like ESL that made CSGO scene a closed circuit. dont forget forget.

  2. Bruh. After BESTIA sorted their visas?

They are the team that actually qualified, got the visas on time to actually attend, now they are replaced AFTER they announced that they have the visas

Gonna be honest im not sure I believe Bestia when they claim that they have the visas ready for Monday and Blast probably haven’t seen concrete enough proof to believe this fact either or they would’ve given them till then.

Legacy must’ve paid a major bag. I wonder if it’s more than the sticker money they’ll potentially get.

Hopefully they release more details on their decision but this is a really bad look.

It would be nice if actually Valve cared for once and stepped in to solve it.

But because afaik there is no official hotline communication channel for pro players/teams, Valve will probably have no idea about the details of this situation.

wow and just as Bestia got their VISA’s….. Atleast that’s what Bestia says

  8. Woullie_26

BLAST probably did this because they already said to legacy that they would be in and it would risk them legal issues that they didn’t want to bother with

Pretty dumb move, ignoring the deadline earlier this week BESTIA did actually get the visa situation sorted just 2 days after the deadline

BESTIA actually qualified and earned the spot, to give up the literal millions in sticker money they could earn is kinda bullshit

  10. Would be curious all these comments if a tier 1 org didn’t meet the deadline. Blast would move heaven and earth for Falcons but won’t help Bestia 🤷‍♂️

  11. AdTime8070

Damn, they should’ve just waited as legacy doesn’t have a visa problem they can ask them whenever they want.

  12. If you’re gonna unapologetically make exceptions for Astralis, you can make exceptions for BESTIA.

Hold a major in a 3rd world country notorious for hard to get VISAs and refuse a few day extension 🙂 bLast

  14. Lucifer_xX

I see why they did this because of the deadline but visa situation is more complex its completely out of orgs control .

  15. KaNesDeath

If i were Blast i wouldve waited till Monday. But i can sympathize with this decision. For the event is two weeks out, two days past the deadline date and Bestia wont have a definitive answer till seven days before the event starts.

  16. Fuck Blast and fuck all NA events, never again that shit

  17. Yharnamite_Cleric

According to seized PGL gave 9Pandas extra days for their visas (and they didn’t even know they had them unlike BESTIA) and so they have the green light by Valve to do that. Let’s see if BLAST want to keep any community goodwill they have left

  18. Ok-Course-6137

Genuinely fucking pathetic. Imagine having the audacity to take aware a one in a life time opportunity for not only the org but the players

  19. PlusFlounder684

I am, always have been and always will be a BLAST hater.

  20. blast bots here in comments,oh mannn if it was tier 1 team or even g2 situation would be different
    greedy blast

now legacy r some kind of fav there in tier 2 br

  21. Sad for BESTIA because this is the best chance for them and next major 9z might take the BESTIA slot and they will miss manor again.

  22. In tennis there are “lucky losers” who are basically the first choice to substitute a player in a tournament if something unexpected happens. They must be available to play on a very short notice (even minutes before a scheduled match) and iirc in season finals you’d get a fine if you were a substitution but weren’t there.

I think it’d improve things a lot if CS Majors adopted this policy. There is too much at stake for these teams to cut them out when they have a legit chance of arriving even if it happens late. That means Legacy and Astralis (and similarly from other regions) would have to come to Austin before the tournament, but would only actually participate in the major IF a qualified team can’t participate.

This would give those teams that have visa trouble time until “the last moment” (which would probably be a day or 2 before) at the cost of potentially messing up with strats of a team that’d get a new opponent, and there are obviously travel costs (which could probably be reimbursed), doing the signatures beforehand, photoshoots and all that, but those are all bullshit excuses compared to a qualified team not making the major and missing out on potentially millions of dollars, especially in this industry.

And yes even if it happens to a single team per major that’s enough to change things around to accommodate those cases, because the alternative of a team being disqualified due to political process that’s mostly out of their control is a shitty way to go.

  23. Bestia claims that they would get visas by monday is doubtful, because US embassy would be closed. Calling BS on that one.

The teams that qualify for stage 1 also impact the matchups (ie., having Legacy in changed 3 different matchups).

I feel sorry for Bestia players, but in this case is just not reasonable to expect Blast to wait further on this situation. Even if a miracle happened, it would be over 10 days from deadline by then and less than a week to the major.

  24. Blast would have 100% bend the rules if it was Vitality or Na’Vi

I don’t understand their problem waiting until Tuesday? It’s a long weekend so no matter Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday most people won’t work these days anyway Blast managers/employees incl. They could have just given Bestia time until Tuesday. Is it that hard?
