100%, and had to dip into it somewhat recently.
i have a bunch of cables in a basket in my closet that i will probably never use.
We have a drawer. But they are coiled up somewhat neatly.
I actually needed one of them, 7 years after I packed it away. So ha.

I’m always surprised how often I take cables from this box for projects and bring them back there to be safely stored for the next project.
yeah, on some i even taped tags. i have dozens of USB-C, USB, MicroUSB, jacks, adapters, data cables, laptop chargers, power cables, internet cables, even some CL-97 power cables from old radios.
My most upvoted post on Reddit was about the vindication I felt that one time my wife needed an obscure cable. I had that cable, in the box she had been asking me to throw away…. FOR YEARS!

Just one? I have an entire IKEA Kalax 5×5 and every time I say I’m tossing it…. People not in the room call. I started charging for old stuff. No one is going to have this at 3 am and drive it across town.

If it won’t all fit? Get rid of stuff till it does.

Absolutely, in fact, every time I finally decide to throw something out from this box, I end up needing it a few months later … even if I had held on to it for a decade! It’s insane LOL!

I pulled the trigger recently. I kept a few lightning chargers and 1 old android charger. The rest are usbc.

Last year I chucked my old box of tech that was from the 80s and 90s. I still have most of my old stuff from 2000 forward.
