$919 today if launched at the same price adjusted for inflation. That’s MSRP, not even considering availability. So let’s say it’s a $1000 GPU.

Obviously it’s completely realistic to compare a top tier model with a next to starter model. /s

Sold my 1080ti back in 2019 during the pandemic for 350$ so I can use that money towards a 3090… they gonna have to pry that 3090 from my cold, dead hands….

349 for 9060 XT 16GB that will shit on GTX 1080 Ti.

  7. Haha love it. I still can’t come to grips that 8gb in 2025 is real.

The card that’s in the last generation before RT and tensor cores? How’s that Doom Dark Ages running on it, huh? DLSS 4 image quality? Right. 2080 Ti is literally the better version of it in every way and aged ten times better.

I retired mine 2 days ago. Purely because it can’t run new doom.

It’s moved to backup duty on the “spare” computer.

Best piece of hardware I’ve ever bought.

I felt sad retiring my 1080ti ftw3 in favour of an Rtx 3080! Wish we would have more focus on pure raster performance instead of ray tracing and frame gen muddying the water

Everyone keeps talking about the 1080Ti, but the 2080Ti aged much better. And it’s only a year younger

So good, trying to kill it by pulling support

  13. Kya_Bamba

    My GTX1070 also 8GB. Card good 🤡

I bought a used 1080Ti recently. For like 220$-ish in my currency. Beast of a card.

  15. fnv_fan

It’s really unfortunate that it’s just one generation shy of having access to DLSS.

Let’s not forget it was nearly $1000 in today’s purchasing power.

Wouldn’t the RTX 2080 ti be the reasonable choice?

  18. Skkruff

I’ve been lucky or sage enough to get two amazing bang for buck cards back to back going from my ‘little card who could’ 1070 to my ‘i can’t believe it runs it that well’ 3080.

Feels like this generation doesn’t have any standout cards, they all disappoint in someway.

  19. ReddiTTourista

Could you guys please suggest me the best way to do maintance to the card? Recommendations for thermal pads and paste is appreciated.

I have that card and it has been awesome for steaming gaming when I can’t play at full res.

    Thanks.

It is a King until you try to run a game that uses Ray Tracing or Mesh Shaders, like the new DOOM or FFVII Rebirth.

And those are only getting more common in the next years, so even a 4060 is a better choice nowadays.

    Cool meme though

I literally just upgraded from my 1080 (not a Ti) to a 4060.

I can see pixels I didn’t know existed

I swapped mine out for a 9070 XT this year. Unfortunately it couldn’t cope anymore with recent games on high/ultra @ 1440p.

GOAT card tho, best one I have had so far price/quality wise in like 20 years of building computers.
