9 out of 10 pixels will be fake, and you’ll be happy

Wonder how expensive that screen is.

I’ve done installations like this but much smaller scale and it would cost about 250k+

If the pixels are perfect and I get much higher FPS than I ever could normally then yes. I would be happy about that. I think AI and its development has ben hugely positive and hugely negative in different aspects, but If I get a great gameplay experience that is better than I would have gotten for the same price without the AI then I would rather go for the better experience. Also AI rendering is going to be hugely important for wearable AR tech in the future so seeing how far its gotten is pretty neat. There are plenty of reasons to hate Nvidia and them lying about performance and claiming a 5070 is as good as a 4090 is a big one, but their awful marketing and lies does not mean the tech is actually bad. Its just the company that’s bad.

  3. all pixels are fake old man, why would I care how the GPU comes up with them?

  4. WtF man, it’s not hard to guess the frames of a mostly still image, now throw some random chaos in there

  5. Saddest-Sloth

10/10 MSRPs will be fake and you’ll be happy.

  6. -The_one_who_asked-

All pixels are fake bro what are you talking abt take a shower n touch grass or smth 😭🙏🏻

  7. bllueace

all pixels are fake, and yea as long as the fidelity is there and it looks good I will be happy. The fuck do I cate how the pixels get rendered as long as they get rendered

  8. Wolnight

5060, 4080 performance at just 299$. Look at all these independent reviews showing how great of a card the 5060 is!

  9. Appropriate_Army_780

    1. It is an almost still image. Not a game.

    2. Frame Gen with low frame rate sucks, so don’t go scam us with overpriced GPUs.

    3. F Nvidia with their abusive and manipulative behaviour.

  10. MakimaGOAT

they should fix their fucking drivers first

  11. Chocookiez

I really don’t mind “fake frames”. My fps couldn’t higher and zero input lag. The thing just works.

Base fps at 50-60 then I turn on all the “fake” stuff and boom my fps is at 220 with no input lag and artifacts.

  12. PembyVillageIdiot

Now pan the scene camera and try to tell me how good it looks again

  13. trigger2k20

Now look at the fine details in the background. It looks like shit.

  14. kapybarah

As opposed to the 1 pixel out of ten that you smell, hear, feel, and taste because it’s real?

There’s so much to go after nvidia for. “Fake” frames is not it. Marketing performance based on fake frames? Sure. But not the fake frames themselves.

  15. Therdyn69

That’s cool, AI man. Now move the camera a bit, just for fun.

  16. ElPomidor

Can we stop with this “fake” bullshit? Technically, all pixels are fake – they’re rendered, not real.

Instead of throwing around lazy buzzwords just to farm easy karma, how about we actually criticize Nvidia for things that matter? Like misleading marketing, absurd pricing, cutting corners on VRAM, or their recent awful driver quality.

I don’t get all this hate for ai generated stuff.

I want to play games. I want to play games at the highest possible settings, at the highest possible fps.

I don’t care if the pixels are generated by my gpu, by ai or by an artist painting them on my screen, as far as they’re accurate and look as they should.

I think we reach a point where making gpus better is very hard, as we saw last generations, they were better than previous, but at the cost of power, not efficency (20% more watts for 21% more fps). They found a new way to keep making people get higher refresh rates without higher power usage, i don’t see anything wrong about it.

Granted, this tech is new, and still have some issues, but will be much better for sure, has a huge potential for improvements.

I think all the hate should be redirected to prices instead of the tech itself

9 out if 10 of their customers are gunna be fake too soon JFC, see ya Jensen 🫡

  19. NGGKroze

I’m happy. Its looks incredible on 1440p 27” monitor with PT.

  20. 2FastHaste

This but unironically. My dream is retina refresh rates in my lifetime (which requires 5 digits frame/refresh rate.) Obviously this is not on the table unless tricks like upscaling and frame interpolation are used. So I’m all for it.

I’ve been hoping for frame interpolation for more than a decade. If anything I wish it would have been sooner.

I’m not surprised that everyone hates it though. Since everyone hates AI, everyone hates motion smoothing on TV, everyone hates nvidia.

All I can hope is that the industry still pursue it despite its unpopularity and that someday all you haters realize the potential of this. After all if the “tHE hUMan eYES caNT sEE abOVE 60FpS” myth lost ground, I’ll take the hopium that other myths and misinformation can be beaten with time.

  21. Confidentium

    DLSS is awesome though!

But yeah. More raw performance and more VRAM should obviously be prioritized.

  22. Fancy-Sweet-8161

I have a genuine question . How do you guys tell the difference between fake and “real” pixels and why does it matter ?

  23. Panzerv2003

tbf what difference does it make where the pixels come from?

  24. I really don’t give a fuck how many pixels are fake. If they don’t look fake, they aren’t fake to me.

  25. Hot_Income6149

Dunno, man, if picture looks good – i fucking don’t care how does it will be rendered. With AI, with god bless, or with paintbrush.
Anyway it’s all “fake”, just a picture on the screen, illusion of real world from the beginning. Why do i need to care how exactly this illusion is created?

  26. Impressive-Swan-5570

All AI art looks exactly the same and different at the same time.
