Its too early for a Super, isn’t it?

  2. smittenss

Hope it’s the same MSRP as base 5080.

As expected, original 5080 was power limited and had insane OC headroom, it was quite obvious that those scumbags were going to release 24GB overclocked 5080, I wish AMD or Intel were competitive, because I am really tired of Nvidias shit (my GPU is still not working as it should, 4 months after release, thanks to drivers)

  4. OutrageousDress

Fun thing is, the original 5080 was power limited *just enough* that the stupid 12VHPWR connector wasn’t a serious fire hazard the way it is with the 5090 (instead it’s only a *slight* fire hazard). But the 400W+ TGP on this one means this *will* be a firebomb just like the 5090. So that’s cool!

And there’s still a pretty large gap between the 5080 and 5090, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up releasing a 5080TI/TI Super before it’s all said and done.

  6. I’ll pay no more than $1200 but would prefer $1000 or even less.

  7. TxM_2404

If that is true they are probably going to release a 12GB 5060ti to replace the terrible 5060ti 8GB card.

  8. Dopa-Down_Syndrome

Gotta feel horrible for 5080 owners

  9. ALMOSTDEAD37

People who brought the 5080 will be such suckers , I feel bad for them

  10. DrIvoPingasnik

    Nvidia?

    No thanks, that’s haram.

  11. nicenicenice03

The more you buy the more you save

  12. AncientStaff6602

400w? This is getting out of hand.

If AMD can somehow make a card that can be as good as this but with half the power demand ill switch to team red

  13. Eva-Unit01-TestType

For the low low price of 5k- Nvidia ( probably )

  14. _regionrat

Oh cool, Nvidia is releasing yet another card that costs more than my whole build. Who keeps buying these?

  15. DOOManiac

I just bought a 5080, so this will probably come out next week.

  16. SushiBump

You know what sucks? Best case scenario is they fix all the driver issues and then release a very stable high performance 24gb 5080S… and positive reviews will drive a $2000+ street price, regardless of msrp.

  17. MacTennis

    meh got a 5070ti for msrp. I play 1440p so i am
    good till whenever 🤷‍♂️

  18. OldschoolGreenDragon

I’m going to ride my XC3 3080ti with a Hybrid Kit until AMD catches up. I want to trace some rays, but not enough to indulge Nvidia’s shittiness.

  19. TheJokerRSA

Also with exstra flames when it melts its own cables and tries to burn the rest of your pc down

  20. LewAshby309

So they buy the performance gain mainly by increasing power. Story of the 50 series…

  22. Yodplods

Didn’t the 4000 series release like five minutes ago?

  23. Academiopolis

    5080 is just a overclocked 5070 ti.

  24. _-Burninat0r-_

Same amount of cores but +50% VRAM?

Oh wait, sounds like they’re just gonna put 3GB GDDR7 chips on it instead of 2GB and call it a day LOL. **Nothing else will be different except +50% VRAM**. It will cost Nvidia maybe $50 in VRAM, it will cost the user $250 because fuck you that’s why.

They could have at least added more cores but nope, this is basically just as lazy as clamshelling. Except worse, because clamshelling would have yielded a 32GB 5080.

Wait for everyone to buy this 24GB 5080, then they’ll release a Ti Super variant with 25% more core so more people will upgrade within the same generation, just watch.

  25. CorellianDawn

And once everyone is Super… No one is

  26. six_artillery

This is probably going to get an enormous price jump from the base model because that’s hitting the ram count for serious AI relevance. people should remember there is a big gap to the 90 model in price, not even considering possible msrp price increases in the future. higher tdp i guess comes from the different ram modules which means higher memory temps? hopefully not as high as some of the amphere cards

  27. Karekter_Nem

There is a part of me that is glad I gave up on getting new hardware because I’ve regressed to the point where I don’t know what these words/numbers mean anymore.

  28. TheVideoGameCritic

Cool. Can’t wait to buy this for scalped prices. Who the fuck are they even advertising this shit to honesty?
