I’ve had the most fun playing this one over the last two, but they’re all great games.

Is it the same kind of “players” as Ubisoft was calling for Assassin’s creed shadows since they were ashamed to mention the quantity of games sold?
Arkyja
Players. The most meaningless metric
EmporerCheekClapper
I hate when companies do this what does “3 million players” even mean?? Clearly they didn’t sell 3 million copies or else they would have labeled it as that

Loved it, my GOTY so far.

I wish I could play it – Ive tried downloading it on game pass for 4 days straight now and only get constant errors…

My one gripe is there’s not a damn sword in the game

Congrats to id. It’s truly remarkable that they created three games that play distinctivly different. And while I prefer Eternal, TDA is just awesome.
mybutthz
I mean, it’s on gamepass. If you like the series at all and have a subscription, you’ll probably play it. That said, it has been really well received and seems like iD is doing a great job at giving each new installment it’s own unique flare to keep it from getting repetitive or stale. 2016 was incredible. It took me two tried to get into Eternal, but ultimately fell in love with the more involved battle system. And from what I’ve seen of the reviews for TDA it seems like this one is worth a playthrough.
Didn’t expect Doom to be one of my favorite series as an adult, but glad it is.

I’ve noticed maybe 3 or 4 times this year that games with shockingly low numbers on steam brag about their amount of players and not their sales. It currently has 83rd most players on steam, just ahead of Bannerlord, but behind Crab Game and ARK: Survival Ascended.
Before anyone replies to me about game pass and such, I know, I just don’t buy into the success story. I’m not rooting against the game or anything, I just believe that “X million players” is a bad sign.
Dense_Ad6769
I mean everyone wants to try the new game, as others said many of the users might be on gamepass so we will have to wait and see if those player numbers increase or decrease with time.

How many units sold and how many playing on game pass?
NewAndlmproved
this game fucks. need DLC. beat it in 3 days 🙁

For me who saw the trailers and went *”great they are trying to put as many mechanics between me and just shooting demons, im going to hate this”* im telling you im enjoying it way more than Eternal and i fkn loved Eternal and DOOM2016.
My only gripe is that i miss Mick Gordon the soundtrack is the only thing that i find just “ok”, its still good but its not great and thats my only issue.

This ID tech 8 engine is pure sorcery, they are SO good tech wise this studio

I have it downloaded but can’t stop playing Oblivion

From demon slayer to dragon slayer — meanwhile Call of Duty still trying to figure out how doors work. 🔫🚪 LOL

This sub is actual garbage, holy shit.

Love it, tbh my only complaint is the Berserker achievement being bugged

Love the “Players” not “Copies Sold” 😂😂😂😂

Welp guess 80€ games are here to stay see you guys on the indie market can’t afford this one.

Thank you for making DOOM fun again

The game looks like fun, but after how ID treated Mick Gordon, I don’t want to support them.

I’d be one of those players if my GPU was RTX-capable. 😭

The most disappointing of the 3. Music doesn’t even compare like a 1/10 of the last 2 entries and something about the gameplay just feels alittle off. Like you get hit off screen and it feels like there’s no real impact until you’re just dead. The parries feel clunky too with the constant slowmo and general feeling when doing a parry and shoot combo. Definitely not a bad feeling game by any means, it just didn’t give me the oomph that I had with 2016 and Eternal.

Game good. Music bad.

It’s fun. Not as good as eternal by a long shot.

Count me in this weekend. Will give it a try. Heard only positive things about it

Lol this is great. Really exposes some of you people here that literally utilized this tactic negatively when AC Shadows did the same numbers LMAO

I think the core combat system is a lot of fun, I love the shield as a combination of defense and offensive modifier to the gun play.
Two issues though. First the exploration aspect is a little frustrating. You are incentivized to explore and find secrets by way of puzzle platforming, but some areas of a map will just be blocked off until you progress a certain amount, like clearing a particular objective or boss. That means I will waste my time trying to find a route that is impossible. To adjust for this the game gives you notifications when you are going to leave a map, so it incentivizes going straight through every objective first, the do a lot of backtracking to get all the items. Not a fan.
Second, the hyped up vehicle levels are disappointing. The giant mech plays like a limited form of regular combat with limited enemies, there isn’t yet anything to it other than stomping around slightly destructible miniature maps. The dragon is better, but feels dated like a gimmick from a a couple decades ago. The combat portions for the dragon are super restrictive but it’s fun to fly around a level the land to shotgun murder before flying to another area.

For supposed to being the gods ‘superweapon’, the Doom slayer is as durable as wet tissue paper.

I didn’t play eternal but I do enjoy the increased emphasis on melee combat. I just love standing in front of a fuckheug demon parrying their attacks and bonking them on the head with the flail. If that was all they added I would have been happy…. But they added more so I’m really really happy
