All easy enough to avoid if you know how to use your wallet correctly and don’t FOMO.

A good solution is to just get a 6th gen console or emulator and play the old games from that era.

Games from around 20 years ago still feel pretty modern thanks to the arrival of the dual stick controller layout we still have today.

i love my dark souls 3 nostalgia bait 🙂‍↕️

Just don’t buy games day 1 problem solved

  5. ThatOldCow

Plenty of great games without any of that. Well, besides the day 1 patches, but better that than no patches and a broken game.

Just try and support more indies, some good gems in there. I dropped my game last month, literally none of these here. Might not be the best game, but no paid DLC, no crypto, no AI slop, no Microtransactions, no lootboxing. Took me around 2 years to finish with help from my brother and some custom assets but in the end I did something I was passionate about!

ALL OF THESE are very avoidable if you have any decent taste in video games.

yeah just play good indie games and none of this shit applies

  10. GermaneRiposte101

So you are part of that small percentage of humanity that can afford to spend time on games.

    First world problem I think.

  11. Sufficient-Trade-349

    Microtransactions is the worst shit

  12. Few_Implement_7871

Buy indie games and avoid life services unless they’re providing good value like poe.

  13. InstanceFeisty

I just play old games mostly or buy games after some time (with few exceptions), when they are polished

  14. DarkZector

Just don’t buy games that have all that

  15. Me: Doesn’t spend anything past the entrance fee.

My list of hard passes is growing, new oblivion?? I still like old Oblivion = hard pass.

Maybe it’s an age thing, but I used to fiend for skins as a teen>young adult. Fuck that shit.

Just don`t buy year one unless you REALLY want that game or it`s a online one ( cuz lets be honest, its probably going to be dead-half dead after a year( Normal situation when launch hype calms down ) ).

  17. LordOmbro

Don’t buy AAA & Early Access games and you’ll avoid most of these

  18. Whiteguy1x

I mean patches, even day one are a good thing.  Games have gotten more and more complex so it’s good to see immediate work on fixing, optimizing, or expanding content

  19. Pure_Parking_2742

We literally have it harder than every other subset of people combined.

Thank you for not posting a variation of **Wokeness** you have passed the Vibe Check.

  21. JaggedMetalOs

Patient gamers be like “what are these??”

  22. lykosen11

Why are we hating on day one patches lol

    Go touch grass

30 years ago you started a Game, turned your brain Off and dindt have to worry about anything

    Gaming… Gaming has changed…

  24. SpecificNobody7151

Videogames have existed for about 50 years. There’s plenty of older games that you can try out.

I JUST WENT TO [ARCHIVE.ORG](http://ARCHIVE.ORG) AND FOUND ABANDONED GAMES FOR FREE NOW IM PLAYING THOSE FOR FUN.

THESE DAYS IM PLAYING NFS PROSTREET IT’S GOOD.

  26. I got cooked so much by blizzard with diablo 3 and hearthstone that now I avoid all of these like the plague. People who still fall for these day after day it’s the saddest part.

  27. FyreBoi99

Wait where are the rug pulls and cryptoscams? I’m waiting till Ubisoft pulls those but haven’t seen them yet.

Also me in my indie, patient gamer bubble experiences none of this. I guess AAA games being unaffordable in third world countries is actually a blessing in disguise!
