I understand that most games don’t need a sequel, but it’s a shame to let a game like Dante’s Inferno (2010) just die on older consoles

If this got a remaster and came to modern platforms I’m buying day 1 for sure.

    Okay but

It’s not stuck on older platforms like you are saying

You can play it on a current generation Xbox just fine… It’s quite literally available to purchase and play on modern platforms

Having played this as I was also reading the Divine Comedy in college…I actually think it went pretty hard.

  4. God this game was fun. The full Devine Comedy was three parts. Hell, Purgatory, then Heaven so it could possibly have another title. But a remaster would also be badass

This game is fucking awesome and I don’t give a fuck if it was heavily inspired by God of War. The combat, progression system and, more importantly, the world were freaking stellar.

That battle against Marcus Antonius on the Lust Circle is the kind of intense boss fight and parry fest that I love, specially on harder difficulties.

My only complaints about this game are some wildly imbalanced abilities that make the game easy as hell (The Immunity+healing one comes to mind) and how in later stages, the game relies too much on waves of enemies (something that GoW itself also struggled with at the time).

  6. Loved this game. Wild to think it’s been 15 years since I played it. I’ll never forget watching a review for it that said “Rated G – for Giant Lucifer Penis”

    Dante’s Inferno
    Asura’s Wrath
    Blue Dragon
    Lost Odyssey

All this shit needs to be remastered/come to pc

  8. I don’t actual want a sequel, I think it ended just right, I totally want a remake thou.

The unbaptized babies were freaky. There was also Cleopatra… if you played you know.

Great game and has some really creative monsters.

This game was so good. I tried replaying on Xbox Game Pass, but there were a lot of bugs. Mostly just voice lines during cutscenes going completely silent. It’s a real great old school hack n slash rpg and could definitely benefit from an update.

  12. It follows Devine Comedy series. Thinking about it. Who’s the Final Boss in Paradiso?

  13. Extra-Cold3276

This game kind of needed a sequel since they made it to be a trilogy

  14. Chaos_Ryzen_

This game was awesome. I’ll never forget my ex making a comment about Spoiler – Satans big swinging thang at the last boss fight.

Electronic Arts is *awful* about preserving their catalog. Who knows how many great games from their 40+ years are out of print and pretty much left to rot in obscurity. It’s not like they don’t have the money to sort out rights and properly remaster and re-release these this things. How much could it cost them to do a decent Road Road collection?

  16. I ended up reading the book because of this game so I could understand it more. Such a good game.

  17. Honestly more a fan of Penny Arcade’s idea of taking the various classical books and revamping them in the same vein. So a space revenge story a la Moby Dick where the captain is trying to kill a giant alien

  18. Aggravating_Side_634

It’s a video game adaptation of a play that’s hundreds of years old…. how would you make a sequel to this? Where would it even go? Doesn’t he die at the end?

  19. ChefArtorias

Never played it but the book is pretty famous so the concept will survive lol

  20. Ekillaa22

Shame it didn’t do better cuz the marketing campaign for this game was fucking insanely good! I mean that superbowl commercial with Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers is GOATED

  21. BidetEnjoyr

I absolved everyone when I was a kid. Replayed as an adult and KNEW I should absolve everyone but… like now I know what they did.

  22. iHateR3dd1tXX

XBOX TELL EA TO REMASTER THIS BITCH AND RELEASE IT EVERYWHERE (except that mario company) AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!

  23. AHomicidalTelevision

this was easily one of the best god of war clones.

  24. ShadowElite86

A remaster/remake would be amazing but EA will never do it. They are so incompetent and out of touch. If it did happen then hopefully they touch up the platforming sections. I recall those being a little painful.

  25. KarasLegion

Needs a remaster. A lot of really good games, whose series have vanished, need remasters.

Dark Cloud 1/2, Prototype 1/2, Infamous 1/2, Breath of Fire all of them, Trinity Souls of Zill o’ll, etc.

I thought there were plans of a sequel set in Purgatory but the game didn’t do well enough get the green light for it. It was supposed to be a trilogy themed on the Divine Comedy.
