I had a not-so-great gaming laptop for awhile – long before I had a bonafide gaming desktop PC. I look back at it fondly. Anyone who puts down *anyone’s* ability to game/enjoy themselves is dick sneeze.

I don’t think about them at all.

being able to play cs2 at 144fps in class for the price of $500 is nice

If it works it works, I definitely would prefer to have a full on gaming PC like I used to when I was younger, but now being an immigrant it’s way easier for me to have a laptop that I can carry around easily when moving around

Gamers are gamers. Just not phone gamers.

I don’t know most of pc users also have some laptop for work or school.

I’d be way more into laptops if they weren’t so viciously overpriced for the performance they provide.
Plus there’s the whole lack of an upgrade path. I’ve strongly considered picking up a Framework in the past because I’d like to support that kind of modularity.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter, game where you can when you can.

Regular office laptops are great for less demanding games. I use an old Think Pad i got for free to play Minecraft, Factorio, Terraria and similar games when im not home.

I dunno, I got a 2012 Latitude for $40, gave it a SSD and new RAM, and it runs most lower-end games at a smooth 60fps. Just beat West of Loathing on it. It gives me exactly what I want

Can you really expect better from a sub dedicated to shitting on other gamers

I’m both.
I just upgraded my PC from the old i7-8700K, 32GB DDR4 3200 and 3080Ti… to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000 and the 3080Ti.
Meanwhile, my Laptop is rocking an i7-11800H, 32GB DDR4 3200 with a 3060 6GB.
Is it good, well, no, but is it good enough to game anywhere without having to lug my huge rig along… definitely.
