Imagine telling someone in 2007 that there would be a day when Bungie announces a game and most people hate it before it even releases.

Public opinion has also plunged into the abyss. It’s almost fascinating.

Sony must be happy with their investment now (assuming they’re not at least partially to blame for some things here).

No, not similar. EXACTLY THE SAME, to the point where the artist’s logo is in the game.

  4. This happens to all video game companies over time. The company retains the same name but all the people who made the beloved games are gone.

15 years ago I’d watch a Bungie trailer 20 times after it came out.

I didn’t even make it halfway through the Marathon trailer before turning it off.

I played all the original marathon games on a Macintosh as a kid. I just wanted a new one of those with modern AAA trimmings. Was disappointed when the new game was what it was. Was a little surprised at the art direction.

Now that I know it’s been so stolen it just feels like they resurrected a portion of my childhood just to punch it in the balls and put it back into the coffin.

Can’t wait for when they bring back Pathways Into Darkness!
