NVIDIA grants RTX 5060 drivers access to media willing to publish ‘previews’

    >***The reason for the special situation:*** Nvidia has decided to make the driver, which is absolutely necessary for the tests of the GPU, available in advance only under certain specifications and very few media worldwide. This includes us.

    >***Particularly decisive:*** We couldn’t freely choose which graphics cards and games we measured and with which settings for this preview.

    >Nvidia has given us the following specifications:

    >***Graphics:*** Only measurements of the RTX 5060, RTX 3060 and RTX 2060 Super are allowed. The background is that Nvidia considers these upgrade paths to be particularly relevant (which we can understand in principle) and therefore wants to emphasize them.

    >***Games:*** We are only allowed to perform benchmarks in the five games Avowed, Doom: The Dark Ages, Marvel Rivals, Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy.

    >***Settings:*** Both the resolution (1080p) and the graphics settings are fixed. The decisive factor here is that while the RTX 5060 can use four times the multi-frame generation, it is not possible to have additional images generated by AI with the older GPUs.

  2. can’t wait for every proper reviewer to rip nvidia a new one for reaching the new level of scum

  3. mockingbird-

Just when you think that NVIDIA couldn’t get any scummier, NVIDIA proves you wrong.

  4. Thick-Background-260

Lets be real, we all already know that its gonna be not great

  5. viper2035

That is not a review that is an advertisement for Nvidia.

  6. jezevec93

That’s disgusting even for Nvidia standards, which are very low already…

  7. Muntberg

Why does it actually matter in the end? Are there really scores of people who are going to buy these so quickly they won’t get to see any actual reviews and benchmarks first?

  8. Maverick_X9

Probably because their driver right now is currently shit, and will most likely black screen in any other game

  9. Ethan_NLHW

This only makes it look worse. Keep shooting yourself in the foot NVIDIA.

  10. Stennan

How nice considering that most reviewers are visiting Computex and are nowhere near their test benches 🙄

  11. chilan8

they were doing the same thing for the 4060 launch, a lot of bullshit benchmark with cyberpunk with rtx on and dlss set to balanced at 1080p ….

  12. TitaniumGoldAlloyMan

No comparison to a 4060? Because there is no relevant change. loö

  13. SoulKingBroock

Nvidia will continue it scummy behaviour until it hits their bottom lines. Unfortunately, no matter how good AMD cards becomes, AMD does not have the scale of Nvidia to outsell them. Especially with system integrators like dell, hp, CyberPower etc.

  14. Disgusting behaviour.Nvidia should be ashamed of themselves.Whole 500 series is a joke really, almost nonexistent improvement. 6000 series will be the same.

  15. EdzyFPS

Let’s not kid ourselves here, previews are just advertisements

  16. ZTZ-Nine-Nine

Just hilariously dumb self sabotage. It’s never going to be pretty in the first place.

  17. Ninja_Weedle

Can’t wait for the -2% generational uplift!

  18. Jeep-Eep

This tells us that RDNA 4 and Battlemage’s answers to this thing thrashed the 5060 good and hard.

  19. mockingbird-

No journalist with any integrity would have published this “preview,” which has no purpose other than as a propaganda piece from NVIDIA.

  20. Varnigma

All reviews should be a simple “don’t buy it” 10 seconds long video.

NVIDIA is trying hard to make less people notice how abysmal the whole Blackwell lineup by doing stunts like this.

In other semi-related news, I knew something was up also once TomsHardware removed anything older than the immediate predecessor gen of GPUs in their tier list. Usually when the current gen is released, their tier list goes all the back to the last 3-4 gens. I guess it makes the abysmal improvement of Blackwell too obvious…..
