Ubisoft would fuck it up. And that makes me incredibly sad. I expect the worst from the Black Flag remake but would do anything for more Splinter Cell. I just want them to sell off their abandoned IPs so someone else competent can do anything with them.

I’m certain it wouldn’t happen to begin with, but if it did I don’t think I want it from todays Ubisoft. They would find a way to either nickel and dime you, or put out a broken a cheap product (or both) because they only truly care about stream worthy, e-sports, packed with MTX and lootboxes…
I’d love to be proven wrong cause those games were amazing, I liked the series until the end, and am happy it didnt stay alive long enough to turn into R6 siege or Ghost Recon:Breakpoint, or whatever the fuck XDefiant was meant to be.
I think it’d be cool for todays generation to play them though. at least to have them easily accessible. But not being Ubis big money maker you know they’ll have to enshitify it somehow.

Spliter Cell games are AMAZING, but you bet everything you own, they would get green lit by today’s studios.
I would love for a splinter cell with baldurs gate mechanics.

It already exists if you emulate the PS3. Now a proper remake would be awesome, following the Chaos Theory gameplay style, no “levels” or checkpoints, just a big sandbox with multiple pathways. The only downside is how the AI barely evolved ever since the PS2 days, so even if you create a well crafted map with plenty of fancy noise and light effects, it will not matter much because the soldiers will remain as stupid as ever “uh, I heard some noise there, hurrr, durrr”. However, the spies vs mercs mode remedies that, actual “human” soldiers chasing spies in complete darkness (without cheaters, of course. Such a great multiplayer, but infested with cheaters since day 1)
