Honestly who would sit here?

They aren’t meant to be comfortable, they are meant to deter homeless from sleeping on them, it’s called Hostile Architecture.

  2. BluelineMN

You see these in some real life cities as well, it’s to discourage the homeless from sleeping on the bench

they probably allow the user to…. charge their cyberware

  4. aknoryuu

They also install things like that to keep skateboarders and BMXers from grinding on there.😂

It’s to stop homeless people from sleeping there, many real life cities do this too unfortunately

  6. MoriTod

They put them anywhere they don’t want a homeless person to sleep. Comfort isn’t the goal. They’re in most American metro areas. It actually makes you wonder why they bother with benches at all.

This exists even now! In our cities.

Google hostile architecture and be prepared to be sick with how much the wealthy elite hate seeing anyone they’ve deemed undesirable (poor people).

Only in a cyberpunk dystopia could we imagine something so needlessly inhumane- oh you mean we have these irl?

Like a ton of these? Sheesh

Brother in Christ you are either so, so very innocent or you knew exactly what you are doing and farming here. I wish I could be so naive still though so give all benefit of the doubt. This is just yet another example of dystopia not being a warning of the future but a critique of actual present, but it’s also a warning of how bad we could be too.

Still more comfortable than the spiked seats and slanted walls you get in real life cities

Homeless hostile architecture, good for sitting but bad for sleeping

That’s why I perfected my technique of sleep sitting, what are they gonna do, make it so it kicks someone if they spend more than 2 hours there?

  13. As bad as that is, Night City is at least extremely walkable, located in an area of mild winter climate, and isn’t as hostile to the homeless as some places in the modern US.

Florida does this and even removes sun covers from bus stops, or benches entirely. It’s better for all of us to be uncomfortable than for a poor person to sleep.

  15. UnhandMeException

Those are pretty identical to the concrete benches we have in Seattle. Anti-homeless architecture is super fucked up and makes everything worse for everyone.

  16. five_of_five

There’s a whole world out there pal

  17. FluidRefuse7834

The funny part is that they actually do this for real.

My sweet, summer child. These exist all over.
