‘”will be released at the end of the year,” which is much sooner than expected.’
No, I don’t call that “sooner than expected”, I was expecting end of the year.
It’s not difficult to put 24GB on an RTX 5080, just put 3GB RAM chips
lkl34
More evidence how pointless it was to buy 50 series the 5080 will no doubt disappear like the 4080 so only the super will be sold/produced over time it will be the normal version. If it has more vram for a little msrp price hike and the added power ouch.
Now next year superTI models? or perhaps a superdragonTI model for china

* 2900€
* actually just 16GB

24 GB will be scalping paradise for people working with AI.
PelmeniMitEssig
Price increase also comes sooner then expected
OmenofBane
I feel like this should have been the standard on the first release. Not a “Super” edition months after.
Saitham83
I got memory warning now in 2 games: Indiana jones and forza Motorsport. Gonna sell the 5080 asap
0riginal-Syn
Nvidia loves to play this game of rolling out level up versions after.
Aggressive_Ask89144
Im not buying your 3k GPU, Nvidia 😭
Eric_Olthwaite_
“80” class buyers f’d in the ass less than six months later…AGAIN.
: )

Hoping on top of 24GB VRAM they can squeeze an extra 10-15% performance from this with boosted clocks out of the box. Most 5080s can boost past 3GHz with some overclocking but it would be nice to have guaranteed out of the box with the Super and from there you can try to push clocks even higher on your own.

The picture has lightning coming out of it to signify the next problem for NVIDIA. The 12 pin connector is going to start electrocuting people
NVIDIA: *User error*

I want 512 bit for 1500. I will wait until 7080
Sinniee
Do we expect any other changes from the regular 5080? Or just additional vram?
Killerman329
They should probably fix their drivers first.
BedroomThink3121
Where is Omni Man???
LaFlamaBlancakfp
Meanwhile I’ll just stick to my 3080 aging like fine wine.
MeisterOfSandwiches
Y’all might as well buy an entire gpu server blade, which would solve the power rail issue automatically.
StickAFork
Another card that will be 1.5x MSRP in store and never in stock. But you will be able to get it for 2x on ebay.
PhlarnogularMaqulezi
For a million easy payments of a dollar?
I dream of a world with unsoldered upgradeable VRAM. :'(
brondonschwab
People thinking it’s gonna retail for the same as a 5080 lol. Get ready for 1699 MSRP
MrMoussab
If I were Nvidia:
90 class: 32 GB,
80 class: 24 GB,
70 class: 16 GB,
60 class: 12 GB,
50 class and below: 8 GB.
arcaias
Bots and YouTubers already have them all, sorry guys, but you can search eBay if you’ve got $1600 for one. Good luck
MakimaGOAT
Had someone tell me there was no way 24 GB 5080 was gonna be possible and yet here we are
FranticBronchitis
This one might actually be good, but will probably be unbuyable either due to price or stock
Leo1_ac
No way the Leatherman would ever, ever sanction 24GB on a -80 series card before 2030.
OP is just clickbait.
MacTennis
meh. bought my 3070 8gb for $779 canadian in 2020. Now i just ordered a 5070ti for $1089. not an insane price jump but enough to be an ouchie that’s for sure
TheMemoman
That’s the name of the game baby, gotta wait for those super turbo tournament alpha Zero editions.
Unless you’re rich, then you just buy them all.

witheringsyncopation
I’m guessing AIBs will retail for $2300-2600. Scalpers will sell for $2800+.

I had read by 2026 which might be enough time to get the tariff situation settled. Maybe. Was hoping for $1200 and expecting $1500. Hard to justify that when the MSRP of the 5090 is only $500 more. If the news of Nvidia upping the MSRP to $2500 are true though, this is exactly why they did it. Nothing to do with tariffs or any other factor. They can afford to take a loss I’m every unit because the money they’re making selling the chips to AIBs far outweigh the losses. Sucks because I just got a 5080 FE and already have a MSRP PNY. Was planning on selling one now and the other when this dropped. If I sold my EVGA 3090 (I kind of want to hold onto it for posterity) it would pay for the whole thing at $1200. But only if I gouge with current ebay prices on the FE.
Im_The_Hollow_Man
So if 5080 is 1600$ then 5080S 2000$. Great!! 2000$ 80-class. NVIDIA really outdid themselves with this one
Libertarian_FTW
I am still rocking a 960ti and I’ve been waiting to upgrade for the better part of a decade and I kid you not I cannot decide when the right time to buy is…
