  1. I don’t know if it’s some weird thing with the years I grew up but Halo 2 was always the thing.

Halo 2 was what kept us carting CRT tvs around in our used cars to people’s basements. I see so much Halo 3 nostalgia and not 2 it makes me wonder what I did wrong in my childhood

  2. Such a great game! I personally think the story should have ended with it. I don’t like what 343 has done to the series.

Yeah when Bungie did Halo, they did it right.
    Sucks what Destiny became.

🎶I was playin halo 3, on my Xbox 360 🎶

    Some of us still play.

Budgie Halo never went away. You did.

  6. xRockTripodx

Talk about? I still play it from time to time.

  7. Just hearing the splash screen music for this game can make me tear up. It’s hard to articulated what 2007-2008 was really like. Everything was just… better. Unless you had a mortgage or had kids to feed. Then shit kinda sucked. Lol

Someone explain to me how, as a kid, I had better connection to Halo 3 servers using a wifi adapter that plugged into the 360 than I do today using wifi 6 on the majority of games I play.

So many good memories, god damn that whole era (2005-2008) feels like a dream now

  10. tht1guy63

Maybe just cus my age but me and friends talk about 2 more than 3.

I joined a Halo 3 LAN league that a guy in the area hosts, we meet once a month for about 8 months of the year and play 2 different 4-hour sessions you can sign up for. Games are played 4v4v4v4 so absolute chaos but it’s been so much fun gathering with a bunch of mid-30s dudes and revisiting this gem.

Halo 3 was so good back in the day!

Playing custom games on the forge mode. I played infection for so many hours on custom maps with friends.

On the weekend just getting cases of soda and junk food and playing multiplayer with school mates.

    Great memories.

We’re closing in on the 18 year anniversary and no game has bested the campaign in Halo 3. “The Covenant” mission alone is the high water mark of first person shooters.

I remember buying Crackdown just to play the beta. I ended up really enjoying Crackdown.

Halo 3 is just an improved version of 2 gameplay wise, so it makes sense why it’s more popular, even if 2 was more groundbreaking. Plus Xbox 360 was pretty popular.

  16. It blows my mind anytime I think about how long ago this came out. I was 11 when this released and have so many good memories playing it with my friends and little brother… Now I’m 29. Time really fuckin flies

I have so many great memories of playing team slayer with my best friend until early in the morning. I still remember my first extermination. On top of the game, bungie.net was such a fun tie in to look at stats and screenshots and medals you had won during gameplay. I know I’ll catch hell for this, but Standoff was my favorite map.

    Sigh, I miss it.

Joining a social match for some classic red vs blue. Hearing anyone say some dumb ish and immediately clap back by yelling and cussing at each other back and forth in the lobby, then killing them repeatedly in game, while yelling over their dead body how much they suck because you know they can hear you.

I had so many friends we could fill up nearly both sides of the big team lobbies when everyone was online and I did not know one of them in real life. We bonded in Halo 3 and then I became life long friends with some of them.

It was better time. No one reported anyone (unless truly needed for safety) because we knew all the cussing, yelling, insults, etc. were truly all in good fun. I’ve never laughed so much in my life and the years I spent playing this game were some of the best in my life.

It’s probably unfair but I still think of it as the last really good one.

The series (timeline wise) ended in Halo 3, all aliens and humans are pals. Halo 4?,5?, that doesn’t exist. Infinite? Yeah good multiplayer, too bad it didn’t bring a multiplayer campaign that mess everything up even more for no reason
