    Excellent is the new acceptable.

the duality of postal services, I once received a GTX 780 in the post packed in a large PAPER box bouncing around, its a miracle that it actually worked, let along not damaged any caps or resistors on the back because back then they had no backplate

and then you can wrap something up so perfectly but that doesn’t stop Harold the Hulk from driving over your box 3 times then tailwhipping it onto your lawn with his van.

Tell them you’re all in favour of eco packing parcels, but a squirrel choked to death on the black plastic wrapping, and the monitors knackered

  4. AshleyAshes1984

I feel like to call something ‘open box’ there should be a box still…

  5. FudgeTerrible

I’m not even opening that. It is going straight back.

  6. siwo1986

The monitor stand poking out of the wrapping is killing me

  7. DarnitDarn

are you going to open it or just return it?

  8. edamane12345

Dont post this in r/Bestbuy lol. The employees will tell you “you should have picked it up” instead and ignore the poor packaging completely.

  9. Emeraldmirror

I feel like the 15 year old working at best buy that day was told to prepare this to be shipped and had no further instructions

  10. AmplifiedApthocarics

whoever did that, what an asshole lol

on the flip side i understand they’re probably not being paid nearly enough for what they’re doing and that’s why you see what you see in front of you.

Must have been that person’s last day…. or they are collecting checks until they are fired.

  12. shadowmage666

    That’s absolute insanity. 100% return + complaint.

  13. Kindaichi_Mystery

…..Is that a trashbag wrapped around it?

  14. MarkElf2204

I’ve bought two open box Ninja blenders recently, both marked as excellent. They were both absolutely damaged. Good sign to avoid these too good to be true deals. I wouldn’t even open that, return it as is.

  15. czaremanuel

I would’ve rejected that “package” if I was home when the delivery arrived. If it were me I wouldn’t bother RMAing… return to sender and inform them why and request a refund.

As time goes on, I feel the service from most stores and or restaurants continues to degrade drastically.

  17. Vatican87

I see the stand sticking out of the bag so it’s an automatic return back

  18. HeyanKun

I have seen corpses better wrapped than this monitor

  19. Tunapiiano

Wow…. This is why I don’t buy anything off best buy, Amazon or any other retailer that’s been opened or returned by someone else. I did returns for a year at Amazon. I know what they do. Apparently best buy does the same thing.

  20. xRaffaell

    Is it ok?
If it works, what s the problem?

  21. Nirast25

Monitor schmonitor, what’s in the chest, OP? (if you’re comfortable sharing)

  22. VideoGeekSuperX

“You spray that thing for bugs?”

  23. iamgarffi

My butcher ships quality meats better! This is bad.

I had the same experience buying an “excellent condition” LG curved oled from Best Buy. I went in to pick it up and they handed me the monitor wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap with no cables, no power adapter. NOTHING except the stand. Walked directly from pickup to customer service and bought a new one. To Best Buy’s credit, or the manager on shift that day, they gave it to me for the same price as the one I bought.

  25. theDeathnaut

Opened the box so hard it evaporated into thin air.

  26. sumatkn

I feel like this is what I would get if I ordered it from a robot who didn’t understand “those pesky human niceties”, or Alien spiders.

  27. MrMupfin

That’s a wrapped up torso if ever I have seen one.

  28. thegreattober

Not at all defending what Best Buy did, but having worked there in the past, I’m not sure what they could have really done; likely this was returned without a box, so it was available to purchase set up as-is on the stand, making shipping it impossible. Without the Styrofoam and box it came in, they likely did “the best” they could, which hilariously is this monstrosity. Any replacement box wouldn’t have the dimensions to accommodate, and in my limited experience they never got special OEM boxes or anything like that to fix something like this.

Any open box item may have the same type of experience, so it’s something to consider, especially if the item you’re buying is an odd shape.

  29. Dr-False

Why does it look like you bought a monitor from the god damn cartel??

  30. dicedtea

Is that a fucking body bag or a monitor

  31. sukihasmu

I’m more interested in the treasure chest. OPEN IT!

  32. RedGhostOfTheNight

Gave it the Ace Ventura treatment hey?

  33. wafflecopterz

Looks like they accidentally sent you Nemesis. Good luck!

  34. your-mum-joke

That’s messed up, what’s in the treasure chest Jack?

  35. Nyktastik

I’m convinced Best Buy open box stuff are just refurbished trash. Recently ordered a TV that was advertised as Excellent condition, all accessories, Open Box. It was missing the stand and it would turn off automatically after 5 seconds. I returned it.

  36. joeyboii23

That’s crazy, I got a “like new” Alienware OLED monitor from Amazon and it looked brand new with a sticker on the box that said Amazon that was about it.

Someone really said fuck it let’s roll it up in a trash bag and send it with this one.

  37. SabreWaltz

I believe that’s actually nemesis from the resident evil franchise

  38. Dopa-Down_Syndrome

So I just asked my shipping department about this. They said that whoever shipped this monstrosity had to pay an extra fee because it is not in a box and is a weird shape. So not only are did they pay extra to not ship it in a box they had lying around, now they have to deal with the return of it in which it will probably be destroyed.

Some people are a little too laxadaisical about providing a quality service to customers and it sucks because it delays things, costs the seller so much more and leaves a lingering impression on the customer the next time they are in the market for electronics they might shop somewhere else.
