Wanted to play some old school zombies with my friend. Realised it’s still at 60$ after 13 years. Am I missing something or is Activision the greediest company on the planet?

Activision is the greediest company on the plannet…

  2. Sillkwitch_Engage

You’re not missing anything, unfortunately. It’s insane how these old games still sell for AAA prices. Sorry.

  3. Kris-p-

Comes with the zombies dlc now so they didn’t lower it more

It does go on sale though quite regularly

  4. TheSunshineDemon

His name is Bobby Kotick and he is the Satan of the gaming industry.

  5. PhuckSJWs

just wait til the next seasonal sale. these things go on sale at least 4 times per year.

  6. spaghettimonzta

meanwhile BF1 is -95%, cod so insecure about their player count they don’t want people playing old games to split them up

  7. DifficultyVarious458

well this is probably one of the best CODs ever however f them look for cheap key online.

  8. Alcoholic_Molerat

You missed Nintendo. But acti is a very close second

  9. DOOM_Olivera_

They’ll sell you games with tons of hacked lobbies that go as far as to actually let hackers infect your PC with malware at full price. Not only they don’t fix this but they also take down any mods to fix this vulnerability or any private servers. They’ll aslo take down any project to revive a game which online features have alredy been taken down…

Yeah. I think greed falls short.

  10. Yuhavetobmadesjusgam

They actively don’t want you playing their old games. They want you to play the newest one and spend on microtransactions.

  11. TheRedOne1995

Activision and nintendo vying for top spot there

  12. bzzking

Activision is NOT the greediest company on the planet. Trust me!!! I have years of experience gaming!!!

Activision is actually merged with Blizzard in 2008, making it the greediest company on the planet.

Activision Blizzard was bought by Microsoft in 2023, making it the greediest company in the galaxy.

  13. Trick_Actuator5763

yes its still that kinda price, better to just get 360s and play there. these games are like. dirt cheap at certain places.

  14. I would say wait for a sale but even the sale discount was slashed. It used to be a lot cheaper on sale before the Microsoft acquisition.

  15. Djb0623

And they don’t even support the servers. So you can easily get hacked playing online

  16. AmogusFan69

Just recently i got BF3, BF4 and BF1 for the equivalent of like 10 bucks in total, while activision is doing this shit. I’ve heard playing bo2 can be genuinely dangerous for your PC too due to the hackers but I’m not sure about that

  17. doomer_irl

Not that this is any better, but they basically just don’t want you playing the old games because they all require internet connections to run (which was also their choice, mind you) and they’d ultimately really like to just shut those servers down. So it’s basically a “we don’t really want to sell you this, but if you’re really willing to pay $60 for a 13 year old game, we’re happy to take your money” price.

  18. me_george_

Paradox is greedier, but Activision is close enough

  19. HumphreyMcdougal

Because they want you to buy the new one, if there’s old ones were cheap then what incentive is there to buy the new one every year

  20. Bran04don

Get black ops 3 if you want to do that because it has amazing workshop support for zombies and remakes of a lot of the original maps.

Also calling black ops 2 old school hurt me emotionally. I was playing world at war zombies daily for years when it came out. And every game after until ghosts changed things and made them aliens.

  21. BRB1993

The CoD games are so damn expensive, even when they’re on sale. Finding them for less than $40AUD is incredibly difficult. Ideally, the older CoD games should be like, $20AUD, at most.

  22. nesnalica

i nust got myself keys for like 5.bucks

  23. Soopah_Fly

Okay now, that’s just unreasonable. For a 12-year-old game? Just go LFD if you’re looking for a zombie shooter.

  24. ApprehensiveDirt8753

Steam doesn’t permanently lower any game prices. Pretty normal for digital games on any platform. Just wait for a sale.

  25. Activision stuff is regularly on sale on the Xbox/Microsoft store..
i believe it’s currently on sale .. I can’t check that now but i know that it was on sale yesterday.

  26. COD have always been like this. They don’t want you to buy the old ones and fragment the playerbase. That price is just to tell you to go away.

  27. Previous-Bid5330

    It’s even more… couse it’s Euro

  28. MCGaming1991

This is why I started buying physical. White out the Xbox and extra controllers and boom done. Might not have online but with 4 of us we’re having fun

  29. Even Call of Duty 4 is still €60

Buy a GOTY disc used. You can find them around €5 on many online used marketplaces. Hope you did not throw out your DVD drive

  30. Electronic-Ad1037

Theysell it for free on bittorrent

  31. SzukamTaty

Nah Nintendo take #1. They have games few years old for 50-60$ and if u want to upgrade them to switch 2 compatible you have to pay 15$ each or buy a membership…

  32. Capokid

It drops to like $8-15 with all the dlc every other month.

  33. Kiriyuma7801

They want you to play their most recent games, not their old ones.

They make much more money off of you buying dlc/shortcut kits on Warzone, so they actively keep the prices on older games exponentially higher than is reasonable.

If you’re really lucky, some times it goes on sale for $40

  34. bobsim1

Its really sad. U have it in ps3 but would like it on pc. The main game is often on sale for cheap but never the dlcs.

  35. ShadowSlayer6

Not to sound rude, but have you been in a coma or sleeping under a rock for the past 15 years? Activision-Blizzard is one of the worst triple A companies in the world. They would sell you toxic code that melts your computer, sells your data, then eats you alive if they could find a way to market it for $100 with at least $200 of cosmetic dlc and an extra $150 for the actual game part of the “game”.

  36. NoOneReally__

Yeah it’s crazy how they never lower the price. Also if you want to play zombies I recommend BO3, it has the best custom zombie maps. So there’s a lot of redone ones of the old school maps.

  37. Old school zombies, shows BO2.

  38. ParksidePants

I’ve wanted to play Call of Duty Infinite Warfare for 9 years. But I’ll be damned if I’m paying full price for it in 2025. So it just sits there in my wishlist collecting dust.

  39. Nice-Pepper-747

Meanwhile EA, who was once hated for being so greedy, is giving us battlefield games for less than 2$

  40. Dotaspasm

EA’s Sims 3 and 4 DLCs would like to have a word.

  41. Buy a key from a 3rd party for like 5-10$
