I’m not a GPU engineer but I’m pretty sure that a drop of silicone on the side of every coil would solve the coil whine for good.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I may as well try this with my old rx470 🤔

Not defending ASUS, but I definitely do not have a problem with noise with my computer. My shit sounds like a V8. I think some of the noise complaints are oversold. I want to know when my fans are revving up. It sits next to an AC unit anyway.

Bruh, i have a 3080 strix white oc, my dear god, its so loud, i cannot use my pc without the headphones. But i odnt play games without them anyways, so there is that.

can confirm, 3080 10gb from launch day has coil whine louder than the entire rest of my system, and in a frequency that gives me a headache if i listen to it for more than a few minutes

It depends not only from gpu but psu too. I had 3070 tuf and it was quiet, now i have 7900 xt tuf and it’s quiet as well.

I specifically avoid ASUS for this reason. Never had an ASUS card but whenever I see someone complaining about horrible coil whine on their GPU it seems like it’s an ASUS model.
