This is the best game of that generation, and it went largely unnoticed. Deep emotional story, fun combat system, the soundtrack is just banger after banger.
One of the most underrated games of all time.

Yeah, that’s Valkyrie and that’s her profile, alright

I think this was the first game I played that made me tear up.

I played thus and Vagrant Story so much when they came out. I was too young to have any clue to what I was doing. But man did they leave an impact on me.

Psx had alot of very unique rpgs and this one was one of my favourites. Even though the setting was pretty generic(a Norse inspired jrpg wasn’t anything special even back then) the entire rest of the game was unlike anything at the time. Having to train up and give up your party members, a ton of optional content, very good combat focused on combos and having a time limit you need to work around were all very cool.
The only thing I didn’t like was the difficulty levels. It really felt like you are getting punished for playing anything but hard mode. If you wanted full game experience there was basically no point choosing anything else. Easy despite the name was the hardest mode cause it limited your access to some more powerful gear and you also had less characters to use.

How nostalgic..

Took me a minute to realize the title of the post was the name of the game.
