I noticed in this subreddit form, some people have a problem with random players, mostly in public lobbies picking different operators.
And I wonder why? Because Treyarch gave us the option to choose if you want to play as operators or the set crew.
And there’s nothing wrong with that? And I hope someone explained to me because if I’m being honest the story for BO6
Been pretty ass lately plus the Requiem crew so far just seems pretty boring besides Maya and Weaver
And so far it doesn’t help the fact how there is behind the scene drama between the voice actors getting replaced with AI or bad performance actors.
Honestly, with all this, you can’t blame random players picking operators over a set crew because the story in general is mid at best.

This is the first I’ve heard it’s an issue. They have additional dialogue from what I understand that’s pretty much it. I always run my own person.
I will never hate being able to choose my character. Treyarch got really lucky with takeo, richtofen, tank and Nikolai cause every other cast aside from call of the dead/five have been terrible to play as.
Shadows of evil crew are meh and forgettable, transit crew is the worst shit ever I won’t even replay maps theyre on anymore. And I can’t remember anyone else which should speak volumes.
Zombies isn’t what it used to be and at this point I just want to be able to pick my character. Playing as ghost face in cold war was and is so great and hilarious.
I feel some are just zombies purists and they dont like it when someone plays the game differently. It’s also strange they’re complaining when anything can happen in a public match.
I’m assuming it’s because a lot of people here are Zombies purists – so they want a select set of characters played in zombies. There’s been plenty of games where only 1 in 4 characters can be played, so I’d assume that is what they’d prefer in their games.
i’ve never heard a single character interaction in this game in public lobbies. in the old games, even if i’m playing with brain dead randoms, at least i’d hear the funny interactions between the characters. i don’t even know if there are any interactions between characters in this game because i’ve never gotten anyone in a public lobby who plays as the crew
I don’t mind human operator skins that fit the game’s setting or throwback characters. I have a problem with silly shark head skins that are completely unrealistic and cost up to 30 bucks.
Honestly, I like the personalization. I feel like it’s the same with most of the other aspect of the game people bitch about, it’s mostly just people chasing the nostalgia.
Because the maps are supposed to be made with the characters in mind. What makes old zombies feel so good is because everything is made for each other! The map, the characters, the Easter egg song, the Easter egg, the weapons, the perks! Not only does the character skins just exist to make some money off of the item shop, but the non map specific characters don’t even have anything interesting to say.
I mean yeah they gave the option, just majority of this sub is zombie hardcores and they like to hear the characters interact when playing
I get some people just play with music on and don’t really hear the characters interact, but for me I can’t play with music on cause it just takes away from the game to me. In every zombies game I like to hear the dialogue

Also the VA’s on the main crew are not being replaced that’s just fake shit
Only one that’s gone is Grey, and she left before the game came out
For those that are interested in the story but unfortunately don’t have 3 other friends to experience all of the dialog, maybe they wish for randoms to use story characters, ideally a different one each.
For liberty falls, you are supposed to NOT have the story characters, for the rest of the map, if you care about the story, the story characters it is.
If you are just grinding, go any operator, but if you are going for the story, it’s preferred if everyone also has the story characters if it’s the story you’re after.
I think it’s because people are so used to old games to where when slight changes are made they are big issues. Game mechanics are very important to a group of people.
I’ve had people get legitimately pissed off when someone chooses their operator. It’s so goofy. Honestly, since they took away the original crew it doesn’t matter at all to me personally
Who is complaining? And if they are, man let them. People complain about everything
There should be a toggle. Toggle on, then everyone appears to be a member of the crew. Toggle off, then it’s whatever the player chose their operator to be, like normal.
I don’t mind if players choose between *Zombie specific operators. But I absofuckinglutely do not want gremlins, anime characters and ninja turtles in my zombies game. It takes away from the aura and story.
I only ever care if I’m trying for the Easter Egg. If I’m just camo grinding I’d prefer choosing a crazy skin or operators like TMNT

Character interaction.
Back in the older game you would hear the characters have a conversation or something that develops them further.
Now it mostly silences or funny quips.
I’ve never seen anyone have a problem with this lol.
Operators are for ranked and multiplayer they have no place in zombies or campaign and never will you can’t change my mind, Ranked honesty should be the only one your able to have your operator in and multiplayer should just be like a set skins for the level your at!
I def feel for you guys who wanna be able to use you own character but that just isn’t zombies you know we have always have a set crew notice the games that don’t do well it’s time for set characters in zombies again it makes sense and doesn’t hurt the community if people can just understand that four players is apart of the story
Crew on Zombie always better for voice, interactions, story etc.. Yes this is Treyarch fault.
I like it, it’s easy to tell who’s a zombies main or a MP main.
Because they’re losers that live in their parent’s basement.
all 4 characters usually have some kind of cutscene and lore and they usually have extra dialogue when interacting with each other, i dont like operator system, i cant remember exactly but i remember one from vikings lagertha in ww2 zombies when reviving the black dude she says like this is no place to rest or something like that and it was funny as hell
I don’t have a problem with it or players using them – but I do have a problem with all the celebrity operators. How they all have a pitiful amount of voice lines and even read the same script. E.g. “I can’t feel my face” “smooth, too smooth” “how’s it going in there”. So yeah I hate hearing those ones, but, I’m hating the company not the player.
You do it once and you hear everything. The lines and convos get old fast. Play with who ever you want. It’s just a game at the end of the day.
It would be better if other operators still followed the storyline in terms of dialogue and such. But they don’t

I might get some dislike for this. I thought some players were more just bothered by wild skins not the specific zombies operators. I bought and use the Mr Peeks skin when playing zombies which is for maya. I think players bothered by the wild skins would be more bothered by that, than like that I’m using maya. If people want to throw money into the game getting or using something even if it makes it slightly more enjoyable for them why get upset. It’s a game for fun. Let people have fun and enjoy the game how they choose.
I think the current system is about the best compromise we will probably get, but I really just prefer if you had no choice and would just load in with the set crew only. It is not up to the player to choose the set crew when they have the option for customisability though.
Having 4 dedicated playable characters seriously added to the story. Can you imagine Origins without voice lines between each other?
I find it funny how much complaining there was here for Cold War not having a set crew and now look at BO6 and most people choose generic operators
The operators used to add to the map, and their dialogue and interactions were something to look forward to. It was more of an issue in cold war since there was no dedicated crew at all in that game. It’s better in BO6, but it’s still nothing compared to what we had in the past.
Didn’t know people were mad others are playing with random operators. Me personally I never play the set crew because I find the crew and story boring and if you want a set crew play with a team of 4 then

I don’t have a problem with it, but I always choose a dedicated crew operator myself. As a longtime zombies fan, I like hearing the story-related quotes.
And although I haven’t bought any skins for BO6, I’d definitely be more inclined to buy them for a dedicated crew member rather than a different operator.
I don’t get why people have this problem either ngl never heard of this being an issue to begin with but I’m not really a big Reddit person so I don’t spend time here often, only occasionally checking in on a noti, but yeah they have a few voice lines between the characters not nearly as interesting as the originally crew but they’re something…I guess? Anyways if people really want to play with only originally crew they should go on a discord or smth and play with people who only use those 4 operators and stop complaining that people wanna enjoy their $70 game with the operators they choose instead of feeling obligated to only use that set crew.
