There is theory that Meredith was supposed to play more important role in game. Like there was some kind of “corporate path”, in which she would play the same role as did Panam in “nomad path”.

  2. I think the game just released incomplete, that’s the main reason

There’s a few that do. Even the girl from the Clouds reception looks pretty realistic

I think they just look less freakish. Simple make up and styling

IDK if it’s lore or what, but I’ve noticed corpos up and down the ladder tend to look more human, while non-corpos, i.e. poorer/marginalized people, need to look more chromed out/flamboyant.

Could be tied to the current trend in the real world of rich people understating their wealth. Parading objects of wealth is out. Understated luxury is in. Compare people like Hanako Arasaka versus Jackie Welles.

Also in the case of ripperdocs, I think it’d show skill. Yeah, any gonk can stick a metal arm on you. But to stick a metal arm that looks the same as your previous arm? To make it look and behave as an extension of your body? I know RL surgeons, and retaining not only looks but functionality takes massive skill.

And who can afford the best ripperdocs? Corpos.

EDIT: Another reason would be environmetal storytelling parallels. These people who look the most human? Have sold their souls to capitalism. These people who are closest to looking like a skinless Terminator? Are just people trying to live their lives.

With notable exceptions, of course, where the visuals are played straight. ~~Adam Smasher.~~

She’s just unusually “natural” compared to half the characters in the game

  6. MasterAnnatar

I very much assumed she was just modeled to look like Erica Lindbeck who was her english VA. Looks very similar to what she looks like IRL.

I need her in ways that are concerning to feminism.

  8. Scandroid99

Charlize Theron could play her well

There are like dozens and dozens of random NPCs roaming the streets in this game that have also really detailed faces and bodies.. and most of them are even more detailed then the majority of main characters from the majority of other videgames released these days

  10. don_denti

She’s a character that shows up very early in the game. Those characters and locations tend to have most polished looks for a hook or intro. Some devs spend quite some time to get them right and well.

Meredith was one of the first characters shown off in the marketing, and shown in previews IIRC, so it makes sense that CDPR would really want to make sure she looked sharp.

Also, I always got the vibe that there was cut content regarding her; that she initially had a bigger role in the game, but that’s just a feeling.

Either way, she was a really cool character, and a great introduction to the Corpo side of things (assuming you didn’t chose that Lifepath). Also, Venus in Furs 🔥

  12. hi_i_am_J

CDPR spent a lot of time modeling her for that pegging scene

  13. bobabr3tt

And why does she play such a minor role?

  14. Bestyja2122

Snow bunny mind control that’s why

  15. TheUnseenDepression

Realistic as in? Judy, Panam and basicly Everybody in there has a realistic face. If you mean the shape and such, that’s just the gene type you are used to seeing in your daily life.

  16. Drolex17

She was the focus of alot of early gameplay footage before the game came out

  17. Krltplps

wasn’t paying attention to the sub and from the thumbnail alone I thought this was gillian anderson from star citizen / squadron 42.

  18. Actual_Echidna2336

She was the original V model
