Could be why I see them in a lot of prebuilds on the market

Do not worry the 5050 will be there to join in the pile soon you can make a gpu ewaist castle.

If I could find gpus sitting on a shelf like this where I live, that would be ridiculous. No gpus anywhere I look
Yodl007
You will have the 5060 on the shelves soon which is the what the xx50 chip was, before they moved the whole stack one tier down.

3050 had its uses, is it priced appropriately?
itsJohnWickkk
Welp, 5080 it is lol.

I think the 4000/5000 series were similar process nodes and were run in the same fabs where the 3000 series was produced in a different fab.
You shouldn’t think of companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm buying chips from fabs. Think of them as buying time in those fabs.
Nvidia is contractually required to keep the 3000 series running unless Nvidia has another product it can switch it out for in the same fab.

I’m still stuck with the goal of buying a 1080ti

My 1060 6gb I don’t know how it’s holding on and the day it die might be the end of the hobby for me.
maximusasinus
meanwhile I haven’t seen a 5080 in my area since launch
Accomplished_Emu_658
Nvidia made sure the 40 series run out intentionally to sell more 50 series. And while the 3050 has its uses no one buys them. I had to buy a bunch to get a discount and only to sell a few.
looman9635
Once again I’m glad I grabbed the 4080super on launch instead of waiting out a 50 series. What a dumpster fire of a series it has been
Arkonor
5000 series is kind of just rebranded 4000 series. There is pretty much no change under the hood other than some AI boosts and some software tweaks.

Not a single 5090 ?
PaleontologistRich67
This is confirmed in Malaysia, right?
SIEBWIEP
Price of the 5080?

I still have 4060s all over the place, the rest are all gone thou
Inevitable-Stage-490

Occidentally20
This looks like the store on the top floor of Low Yat
Ringjitsu
Oh, that paper weight I would only use as a stop gap and overpriced usually. Does it even ray trace bro? 🤣
RACERX44
Is this Malaysia?
life_konjam_better
Its made on Samsung node so Nvidia will eventually make a 3030 and 3010 out of all the silicon like the 700 and 1000 series.
Scary_One_2452
That’s because 3050 got refreshed recently. Its now a lower tdp 6gb card completely different from the original 3050.
This new one is really an rt 3030 being called rtx 3050.
Raffaele520
The 6GB version of the 3050 is the most powerful card that doesn’t need external power. As far as I know it’s still being produced, same for the AMD equivalent, but worse and cheaper, RX 6400 4GB.

Hmm I think I do recognize this shop ehehehe. Anyways, I’d still take 3050 any day without worrying much. Besides, PC gaming is an absolute gold mine. It’s the best platform to game on with unmatched modability, flexibility & endless catalogue!
