– Gabe Follower found brand-new game code—one for weekly missions and another for an operation. Why add operation strings if it’s not happening?
– Train teased upcoming maps a long time ago, and they haven’t released a single one yet.
– The new code referencing “Night Ancient” almost certainly won’t replace the competitive version of Ancient, since it’s a highly popular pro map. It seems intended for an event, like Halloween Cobblestone.
– We haven’t seen a single agent skin released in CS2 yet. These were previously exclusive to operations. Are they holding back for a reason?
– Game modes. Almost all the cool game modes we saw in CS:GO were introduced during operations — modes like Premier, Flying Scoutsman, Retake, and Scrimmage. But it’s been almost two years now, and we haven’t seen any new additions. Don’t forget, Retake and Team deathmatch are fully functional offline against bots and Valve could easily release these modes officially if they wanted to. So what are they waiting for?
Once again, operations might not be dead. They’re very likely still a thing. The Armory is just that—an armory, not a replacement for operations.

Given that we already have the armory for skins and now have a community map rotation, I’m not really sure what the point would be except to signify a major update or something.
Remember all those early leaks about stuff like pets and customizable agents? I wonder if the point of the new operation would be all those new kinds of cosmetics finally happening now that the game is much less of a complete disaster like it was at launch.
Either way, I dig the idea of night Ancient. Train’s visuals show that Valve knows how to handle a dark, rainy, foggy night and still make that theme work in a game this competitive, so yeah, gimme the pretty night ruins full of spotlights and stuff.

I think night maps might be cool in theory but would be pretty CT sided considering the default CT skin
unless they’re like train, with all the artificial lights and such
TensionsPvP
I have been waiting for this, game lacks updates and new things to spice it up hopefully they release Snowy Cobblestone, buy Cache so they can update it faster, and New Mirage with Half Life Alyx textures on apps.

content aside, Im still praying for gameplay changes. Remove the 1400 loss bonus, slash the price of the kit, cut some more gun prices if so, buff some guns if possible, etc etc.

“mission” is just for those of you guys who want service medal/battlepass giving u guys just some exp bonus so you dont have to grind as hard. i believe there gotta be another operation.

I’m just putting out there, the very first operation only contained a coin and community maps. I’m hoping that Valve are basically just drip feeding the content extremely slowly. It would explain why big updates always tend to happen when the community begins to collectively get fed up with the lack of updates.
Literally had a post saying how April was the first month without an update reach front page then a week or so later we get a bunch of community maps and weekly missions. Not the first, second or third time this kind of thing has happened, even in CS2. You could call it a coincidence, but at a certain point you gotta stop believing in those.
