What the f*ck

128 cores, 512 threads? So it’s like double hyper threading? Otherwise it seems usual for a high end server CPU.

Interesting to see what a “company” can do when they have the budget of the entire Chinese government.

I guess this is another test of capitalism vs communism.

I don’t care who wins, I just want cheaper hardware.

  3. FriendlyRomangutan

And will probably perform worse than a 6th gen i5 in CS2.

  4. Royal_Ad_2653

It needs it for all the backdoors and imbedded spyware …

  5. ExtraTNT

Funfact, with perfectly written software, hyperthreading reduces power… but nobody pays you to write everything in x86 assembly for your specific system with all variables checked…

Reminder that AMD used to suck balls before they made the best CPUs.

  7. Musician-Round

good of China to let us know that they have successfully reverse-engineered another piece of stolen tech.

  8. creating an instructions set for this thing must have been a nightmare

  9. Aggravating_Match298

The chinese dragon has his cards too.

  10. milutza1

And it’ll just have some code that dumps all your data to some chinese ip. Nothing to worry about.

  11. Katamari69

Cool story. Is it x86 or is it garbage?

  12. But can it boost to 6ghz and degrade within a month though?

  13. ZarephHD

It’s gonna be many CPU generations behind in performance and performance per watt, but they _are_ catching up.

EDIT: I’m not wrong, mr. salty Chinese person who downvoted me. Just wait for benchmarks. Or check [this comparison](https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/6150vs3869/Hygon-C86-3350-8-core-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5800X) between Hygon’s latest 8c/16t CPU (Q3 2024) vs. a Ryzen 5800X (Q4 2020). The Hygon C86 is newer than the Ryzen by about 4 years and scores less than half as much in both multi and single-threaded workloads in this benchmark. Other benchmarks show broadly similar results.

  14. hachi_roku_

Interesting, hope there will be benchmarks

  15. UltraX76

If this goes well, I’m gonna get one lowkey, I actually kinda need this.

Nvm, this is nowhere near as good for me as a threadripper or an Epyc. And xeons are horribly expensive

  16. RZ_1911

Just another ARM cpu .. with limited power and potential .. copy – paste cores till result will meet yours desired core count

Just another – coz many companies even Qualcomm . Tried their own – “x86 killer” and where all they?

  17. alvaro-elite

Looks like a TR4 socket maybe a clone of Threadripper or Epyc?

  18. Aur0raC0r3al1s

4 threads per core? Damn that is amazing if true

  19. Mecaneecall_Enjunear

I’ll believe it when GN benchmarks it.

  20. 3Five9s

There is no fucking way in hell I’m using that.

You could pay me to use the system and I still wouldn’t.

  21. Stormljones3

    That’s not a threadripper chip? 👀

  22. greatthebob38

What motherboard I need for this? Mainly using for youtube.

  23. So AMD just gives the chinese the AVX-512 IP like that? History will repeat again when the Chinese dont need AMD anymore

  24. guacamolejones

Don’t forget the free built-in PRC monitoring built into the firmware!

  25. ConsistencyWelder

Makes a mean cup of coffee too.

Not without selling all data of you to china though.

  26. eren_flooferz

Ima buy it to play minecraft java vanilla. I will finally get 24fps

  27. chineese x86’s have been lurking around for years… so far they have lagged 5 to 7 years performance wise even if their specs would imply otherwwise… so this might fare siilar to a 2018 to 2020 ryzen or Xeon, It would certainly be a warning sign of AMD and intel if the performance is any better than that though

  28. SchiffInsel4267

how does 4 way hyperthreading technically work? Even normal Hyperthreading has no 100% performance increase because a core isnt that fast to fully use two registers.

  29. really hate when ppl post stuff, like this, but don’t give the link to the thing they posted!!! >:|

  30. Shadowspamer14

Oh so *now* they introduce the good stuff, *after* the tariffs. Of course they do.
