Mine is not made of cloth and is more like a table cover, so I just wipe it.

Did it just a few weeks ago for the first time ever after retrieving it from storage in my care while I was homeless… it was not good. Some people might make a mousepad tea… I made a mousepad black coffee for twenty minutes straight, tea for another ten, and a very light tea until I gave up.

I stopped doing this long ago. It’s too tedious and the mouse pad just ends up too soaked up in the soap. And it may end up leaving marks, no matter how much you try to wash it off.
If you want to wash your pad, just use cold or slightly warm water, not hot and scrub it off with a microfiber cloth. Use soap only if you have a serious stain caused by food. And use very little amount.
Although the best thing I’ve found to do is to simply keep a microfiber cloth near me, soak it up with a little bit of water, and just wipe out my pad every day or every other day. I heard Linustechtips say this and ive adopted the trick and it works quite well. Havent washed my mouse pad ever since and its very clean and good looking considering how old it is.

A good wash 2-3 times a year. I’ve had the same mouse pad for 6 years now and it’s barely worn away. Warm water, soap, and baking soda.
