First of all, a player isn’t privy to all the discussion had in the first place. And if the player turns out to be wrong, then their whole reputation get affected. It’s always better to shut up, be quiet, and let the public do what they always do. Why put your rep on the line over 1 roster move out of the dozens you will eventually be involved in.
