    I often wonder why religion isn’t used more often in Cyberpunk settings. Technology can also be an opiate of the masses.

    That quote comes from Marx. I know he’s controversial. But he said it because religion is often used to cover up the suffering caused by political structures. Tech does the same damn thing. It makes your miserable existence under oligarchs a little easier. Forcing you to comply and accept over time.

    No it does not. Cyberpunk is not ancient meets future. Cyberpunk , focuses on themes of societal decay, corporate dominance, cybernetics, hacking, and rebellion. While I think the juxtaposition of this image is cool in contrast, it does not fit the theme of Cyberpunk.
