Only reason I bought the first switch was COVID lockdown.
The fact they are charging for internet functionality.
Overpriced games and no reviews
Means this will be my last Nintendo console.
Also Palworld > Pokemon

Anyone saying that they are delusional is forgetting that Nintendo sells the same bunch of games since like 90s and people gladly buy yet another Pokemon title with exactly same mechanics, every year.

Have they considered that maybe Trump will do the same tariffs of 100% on videogames that he has done for the Films industry and that 80$ games will cost 160$ in the US?

Those numbers aren’t even comparable. To be able to get a proper comparison we’d need to compare the forcast of FY26 to the launch year of the switch 1 otherwise those numbers say nothing, except Nintendo being very confident that the Switch 1 would still sell at all.

Hopefully not at this price. Don’t get me wrong – it’s going to sell out early on, just like with the Wii U. But if the purchases doesn’t follow after that, they’ll ditch the price on the console to save it just like with the 3Ds.
I consider myself pretty hardcore about gaming (I usually pick up most consoles, especially Nintendo ones), but this one actually made me hold off. I have the money, that’s not the problem. (Edit: It’s about the relation of my money in regards to other products. Prices are spiralling, profits are going up – but my wage ain’t somehow and I gotta play it smart.)
The economy is in shambles, the world is increasingly insecure, and the price increase here in Sweden adds a whopping 30% on top of the price. They wanna pad all the prices by even more for games and controllers, and there’s no telling what the hardware quality is, or how the console holds up. I don’t know how many controllers i went through last generation, I ain’t paying extra after that experience. Not so my kids can play another Mario Kart, you know? I don’t care if it’s the best Mario Kart ever, if that’s what it’s gonna be like.
It feels like companies are trying suck up whatever money we have before everything goes to hell. Things aren’t alright.

They sold the first switch that many times, they aren’t gonna tell the shareholders that they expect to be worse
Helplease2
Those are some… optimistic numbers.
I have no doubt that it will sell well, but will it sell as well as the original switch if we take the price increase in consideration?
Nintendo has a very loyal fanbase so who knows…
Beastmind
With some of the big games coming I can see it go that far. Between Metroid Prime 4 or even the soul like that fan of fromsoftware will probably get a console just to try it.
And if they release a new Pokémon or platform Mario start of next year it would likely explode that high.

Can’t help but feel like people are forgetting what the Wii U was. Seemed like every couple of days you’d see that same post about the Nintedo CEO taking cuts to their pay to prevent employees being fired. Nintendo can most certainly fail.

lol it’s saltier than the Dead Sea in here. Nintendo must be doing something right to have mofos seething and malding this hard

Too many idiots out there rewarding Nintendo for it’s shitty behaviour
Honest-Word-7890
Optimists. I don’t see them selling the same quantity as their previous 300 dollars console and cheaper games. They will lose some sale here and there, after having sold a ton of consoles to early adopters and enthusiasts in the first quarter.

Well I ain’t buying one.

Seems very realistic, especially globally.

Frankly I’m amazed they only expect 15 million. There will be at LEAST 1 million bought by scalpers alone. Then you got the people who MUST HAVE the new thing so about another million, then the die hard fans who think Nintendo can’t do anything wrong will be about 3 million.
That’s a third of the way there in about 2 months.
