I am very new to the series after finishing the game and watching edgerunners but something caught my curiosity

How do people reproduce? As in i know some people get chrome/mod to thier D and V areas but that should effect the reproduction process right?

Also another thing caught my curiosity is , if Raiden “in the picture” was in night city can he gain the ability to reproduce after getting a modification? Because the only human parts from him left in MGS Revengence are his face, tongue, and spine

I’d imagine test tube babies would be a lot more common. There was the BB reference from death stranding in one of the missions.

Just a wild guess but maybe something similar but on a larger scale with more babies.

To a certain extent, they aren’t. There are mentions in the lore that the birth rate is at an all time low, and we only ever see one pregnant woman in the entire time V is in NC.(a few more if you count the corpses in the Fury Road Easter egg in Biotechnica Flats).

The majority just aren’t bringing children into the world of 2077.

yk i was writing a whole big thing about midnight ladys and mr studs and how they work but tbh its easier and faster to just say…

yes, they can still reproduce, the implants dont really change much aside from appearance and feel

there is also an implant in cyberpunk red (maybe 2020 too i forgor) that stops you from becoming pregnant, which implies imo that midnight lady doesnt and imo the same probably applies to mr stud too, maybe being an optional thing idk

even if they did stop reproduction, most people don’t get either implant so it’s not an issue for most people

fun thing: you can chip both at once if you’d like!

as for raiden, a mr stud wouldnt let him reproduce, though it would let him have sex, its pretty much the only way for full body conversions (eg adam smasher) to do so

but! you can get lab grown clone limbs to replace your lost ones instead of getting cyberlegs/arms, I imagine the tech exists to restore/create functional reproductive organs too

^(even after removing it all and starting from scratch i typed a lot more than i needed/wanted to ;w;)

edit: birth rate however is still low in night city, likely due to the poison in the water and chemicals in the air

Most people aren’t swapping their privates out. More than not can just do regular old reproductive sex. For guys that swap dicks, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re losing their nuts too, ditto for female equivalent. Artificial insemination also isn’t gonna go away

Well, yeah there’s options for male and female cyber enhancement, the video games don’t go into it much, but on the table top RPG, the options are there.

Given that cyberpunk has advanced enough to connect nerves to mechanical arms, legs and other appendages how hard do you think it would be to connect that cyber sex organ to a vas deferens? Hell they could probably even set it up so that men would be able to choose to fire blanks or not. Control it the same way they control a cyber deck. Baby making on, baby making off. Probably only cost you one ram Choom.

Nowhere is it stated in Cyberpunk, games (2013, 2020, RED and 2077,) or Edgerunners, that even a simple majority of people in The Dark Future have (inexplicably) had all their sexual organs removed.

The second mistaken assumption I can see is that the Mr. Studd and Midnight Lady sexual cyberware also remove the testicles and ovaries, and this is not substantiated by any official content.

The third mistake is you’re assuming that all the original tissue/organs replaced by cyberware are just tossed into a garbage and cyborgs can never be 100% organic again. No, they’re stored in an organ bank if you can afford the monthly fee, and can be replaced by lab-grown (cloned) tissue/organs which are fully functional.

Raiden from MGRR could reproduce in Cyberpunk, because he has DNA from which a new pair of human testicles could be grown.

Many people forget just because it’s a city full of chromed up people, not everyone is chromed and most certainly not everyone has chrome that would interfere with any of that

  8. Moribunned

Even if enough people had their junk replaced to make reproduction rates problematic, I’m sure the procedure would include harvesting reproductive materials in case the patient would like to have kids one day.

  9. South-Cod-5051

most people aren’t that chromed out. regular people just have a neuroport for conversations, maybe some kiroshi Optics, or some limbs replaced.

Just because everybody is chromed up to the gills doesn’t mean they have all collectively cut off their reproductive organs, and if they did, nobody said they couldn’t have just clone themselves a replacement specifically for the act. Despite the grungy looks, the world of Cyberpunk is advanced as hell; you can add and remove cyberware from your body without much difficulty, no matter how extensively you’ve chromed yourself up.

Surrogate reproduction exists in 2025, I bet it exists in 2077 too and has even dramatically improved lol

i wld guess penis or vaginal implants will have the ability to produce sperms and eggs respectively

You’re forgetting it’s set in the ultimate dystopia where desire trumps all, children are even more unimportant than they are to people currently

They can use science to make lab babies but it is unnecessary because people with that much chrome are pretty rare. Most people don’t have enough chrome for pregnancy complications or anything that prevents you from having a child.

  15. Artificial wombs? The tech must already be there right?
