God I’m also just done with the prologue. Didn’t expect that. This is game is beyond a masterpiece.
A shame it’s under the radar for most people, and that its company is going bankrupt, definitely goty for me.
There’s dozens of us playing. Unfortunately that’s probably not far off.
Game could’ve rolled credits after the prologue and I would’ve called it pretty decent, everything together I’m thinking GOTY material
Yeah this game is an absolute masterpiece. 60 hours in and im only at 8 endings out of 100 lol. Feels like im gonna be eating so good for a long time. Ill be savoring every minute!!!
I am a big VN reader. Read everything from fate stay night to majikoi. Never heard of this one.
I still haven’t beaten the demo since it is so long (and my wife wants to watch me play for the story, so I can’t just pick it up whenever).
But the “100 endings” really has me wondering if I want to purchase it anytime soon.
I’m loving this game. It’s way, way better than it has any right to be, and the story really does keep you on your toes.
Yeah in the past I’ve always knocked visual novels as sort of lazy ways to portray a story in a game. But ever since Doki Doki literature club I’ve changed my mind and have been very open to all sorts of genres.
I would love to try a visual novel game but I’m really put off by not knowing what to expect. Is there any actual gameplay? Is like telltale games where it’s based on choices? Or is it just an interesting way to read a book essentially?
I am looking forward to playing this game once I have time, but unfortunately it’s in the queue behind Expedition 33 so it’ll probably take a bit. I’ve heard nothing but good things though, which is weird for a Danganronpa!
How does this compare to 13 Sentinels in terms of story?
Day 75, almost done with the prologue
I remember reading another post someone made, where they put in 80 hours for a single ending. Then casually mentioned there are 100 endings.
I’m sure it’s got its fans, but damn man, I don’t have time for ANYTHING close to that. Back when I was a student or young and single I could sink that time into a game. With a family and a career, I get like 10 hours a week to play games and I don’t think I’d spend it this way… sad to say I’ve “aged out” of some games like these.
I got kind of interested in it with all the hype but Kazutaka Kodaka’s writing and characters annoys me so fucking much, especially the mascots/villains in his games (the cutesy marshmallow like things don’t look like villains but I just know I will roll my eyes the moment they start speaking).
I only just completed the first week, but I’m shocked at how much thought they put into the gameplay, from the skills to the enemy placement on the battlefield. I’m not going to say it’s better than Fire Emblem, but the fact I’m enjoying myself so much with planning out and thinking all my moves, who’s the best character to send to what part of the battlefield, etc. bodes very well for how much I’m going to enjoy this even if some of the characters are really annoying.
It’s from the developers of danganronpa. I seriously doubt it’s that niche. I havent got to it yet but, I plan to play it.
I’m playing it as a Zero Escape fan and the start was grating on me a lot not a fan of the characters at all but I’m slowly starting to enjoy the game I’m currently on >!the last day that Takumi needs to convince The sister complex, normalish sister?, and bad depression stereotype to fight!<
I’m a huge Uchikoshi fan, and I enjoy a lot of Kodaka,’s past work too. I picked up two copies of this physically for switch (not intentionally, lol). Very very excited to dive deeper into it. I really hope this game gets some more recognition so TooKyo can stay afloat!

I like danganronpa and I liked Zero Escape, but I’m not a fan of Switch/PC only and RTS gameplay. but maybe if they port to Playstation I”ll give it a try.

Longest prologue in recent memory
I don’t recall a long prologue, or any prologue for that matter. And I’m already on day 30.. Unless you mean to tell me…. No… No way..
The game is peak, but it’s in a genre that is easy to overlook
VNs are one of those things that provably gets shit from both the literature space and the gaming space for not being a “real” one of either, but honestly, if we’re gonna count CYOA type games like telltale/life is strange/ etc as games just because they’re 3d, then VNs should count too.
I mean, ffs, I’d take 5 half decent VNs over the deluge of crap on steam these days.
I really like the Zero Escape and Danganronpa games but I’m not a big fan of Strategy RPGs, is it super involved in this game? I see there’s an easy mode so I may just go with that.

I don’t mean any offense by this; I’m not trying to stir a pot. But I am genuinely curious, as a fan of this type of thing – can you confidently qualify it as a *game*?

I saw a weird meme about katawa shoujo and thought it was funny, so I gave it a shot. I ended up enjoying it very much.
Then I tried another game called crystalline, and I’d highly recommend that to fans of VNs.
I’ve played all but one of the world of darkness VNs (vampire the masquerade and werewolf the apocalypse) and I’m a sucker for those, but I get that they’re only for super fans.
Wait is this a new game from the dangonronpa devs???
If you want long prologue but also amazing story payoff try the Visual Novel that inspired a lot of VNs and animes – Muv-Luv trilogy.
I could say some things about it but if you don’t know anything about the game at all it’s best if it stays like that until you play. The payoff of the story climax is (at least for me) the best I ever seen in VN.
