I don’t understand why Songbird is supposed to be sympathetic, but yes, put her out of it. if only to deny Myer’s, which is the other imperative.
Unless you’re doing a maximally pacifist run, there are gangoons will girlfriends, maybe children, existing in a human existence, just going along with a horrible system.
Songbird has no obvious humanity. I mean, she leads you on a mission to show you how human she is, but it’s all a fraud to manipulate you. She crosses everyone she meets just to survive.
V is the product of a deeply fucked up system. But I think it’s basically impossible to create a V, in the narrative, who is as inhuman as Songbird.
Songbird is closer to Adam Smasher than V.
beckychao
Everyone should do the Reed route at least once, because it’s so phenomenal.
But I’m not a slavecatcher. I don’t work for slavers. I side with Songbird.
DimmmmO-O
I sided with Songbird all the way and sent her to the moon. The only way to truly free her is to do that imo. She wanted a way out and was desperate. People do stupid stuff when their desperate
p33ly123
I always send her to the moon. Personally I feel like that’s what V and Johnny would do, I mean why would they suddenly go against every anti-corp and government sentiment they’ve had? and the “betrayal”… lets be for real, we all knew she was lying from start. Killing Reed was one of the easiest decisions I made in the game.
Jeremy_Melton
I side with Reed for Erebus and Hansen’s weapons.
the_1st_inductionist
I sent her to the moon. Even though she betrayed V, I had no reason to think that the NUSA/Reed would help V at the decision point (and I think it was OOC for them to help V at that point), Reed didn’t have to try and stop V, and NUSA having Songbird back in their hands was bad news for V long term.
zenprime-morpheus
Songbird keeps bucking responsibility and blaming others for her mistakes.
It’s not her fault she fucked up hacking Militech and ended up in the FIA’s sight.
It’s not her fault she followed their orders to kill Reed.
It’s not their fault she went beyond the Blackwall too much it began eating into her.
It’s not her fault Myers nearly ended up in the clutches of Hansen nearly sparking another war.
It’s not her fault the Cassel twins get murked by the FIA.
It’s not her fault.
So yeah, I kill her every time.
It’s not her fault. I can do deed. I can shoulder a little more blood on my hands. I never really held much stock in a cure. It’s my death, gotta face it standing up, iron in my hand, middle finger outstretched.
We’ll be able to fly. Take my hand.
2paranoid4optimism
This scene ripped my heart out. I only only betrayed her to 100% PL. I felt dirty as hell, especially when you hand her over alive (after experiencing the Devil ending I understand how evil a choice that really is). Naw, sending her to the moon is the only right answer. Sucks for Reed, but Alex and Song get a chance at life at least.
BobbyDiugh69
Of course I saved her, she deserves to live love laugh n love some more.
fliberdygibits
I’ve done both and highly recommend you do as well but I prefer honoring songbirds wishes and telling Meyers to F off. Songbird was never going to get help from Meyers. Meyers had Reed convinced otherwise but So Mi knew better and was done. She would have been patched up and put right back in service more miserable than before.
Runner_Road
I like to think of my three playthroughs.
Corpo – Sent her to the moon. By the time she tells him, he just doesn’t care enough.
Streetkid – Fufills Somi’s promise. End her, even if it means I can’t have help.
Nomad – Just wanted a quiet life. And quiet life is all I will get, even if that means subjugating her in torment.
AnonAvner
Too many lies and backstabbing. She’s addicted to it. I keep her alive but give the president a real piece of my mind after. Walk away with the blackwall components of course.
InCognIt0_m0d3
I killed her the first play through because I didn’t want her to be a test subject, and got a very rare steam achievement too, and pissed off the nusa big time. Johnny thought I made the right choice at least, I can’t say exactly the same, I’m looking forward to seeing how the other endings play out now.
ThatsSoMetaDawg
Yeah, just finished my second playthrough of PL and went full So Mi. First time went with Reed. Both phenomenal endings IMO. Both not great… see you on the moon So Mi. Never fade away.
Necromaster_666
I always betray So Mi. I get deep into role play, and from V’s perspective, she was lied to and manipulated *again*. So i always betray her and take the rural matrix for myself. It’s a dog eat dog world choom, fuck me over and see what happens.
Virtual-Chris
If I play cannon V, I send her to the moon as V and Johnny are the ultimate in anti-establishment at all costs. Of course, I’ve tried all the endings through saves, and recommend everyone try them all, then choose what fits best for your character. I’m now playing an undercover Netwatch agent, whose goal is to take her out as she’s a weapon of mass destruction and must be ended.
TrueNova332
So my first time doing it I complied with So Mi’s request because well fuck the government and my V was a fellow Netrunner and Netrunners have to stick together.

The second time I denied her request because my V was a Corporate Stooge
Ikariiprince
She could lie 20x over and I’d still send her to the moon
Dandandandooo
I killed Song in my first PL playthrough because she was suffering and Myers would keep her as a slave…
Makes me wish we could storm in FIA HQ like with Arasaka solo or something, maybe an actual suicide ending, but I know it prolly doesn’t make sense lol
KV4000
you sided with reed to choose for songbird
I sided with reed to kill hansen.
Greywarden194
“Helped” her die/kill her. I think that’s so impactful thematically, and it fits with the grimdark cyberpunk theme. I think what my V learn from PL experience:
* Saw Somi’s truth. (The real truth with her flashback sequences and her deepest fear)
* Understanding that not every deal is worth the cost.
* Helped Reed redefine *his* sense of purpose
* And understands that sometimes, the most **punk** thing you can do is walk away with your soul intact.
notveryAI
First time around I was foolish enough to go with Reed, hoping it would all work out, but I was wrong, and in this moment… I couldn’t curse her even more than I already did. At least now neither Myers, nor anyone else, can get her, ever
Dalymechri
I chose Songbird. I will never side with Reed just to avoid that chasing robot part
peramitic99
I kept her alive, because my V always does as he’s bid, and always sees the job through.
Mrenik369
Czech mentioned. 🤘
DoriN1987
Just finished her path, start Reeds, and hate it already…
prodigalpariah
I mercy killed her so she wouldn’t be tortured for the rest of existence and the president wouldn’t have her own personal blackwall wmd. The fact that this is the only route where reed finally decides to give up on the nusa and start living for himself is just a bonus. Sucks that Alex dies though.
Zepulchure
I only have 141 hours played. The first time I made it to the infiltration mission, where you sit and the construction site beforehand… Not very far.
The second time (current) I started over due to the big update. I have yet to meet up at the diner. And currently finishing ALL side contracts and handlers in all the areas xD
Storywise, i have never gone far. Playing a tech/power build. Adrenaline, and just enough intelligence to see into cameras and scan stuff before I go in. No sandy, camo or dashes. Just double jump legs and good old fashioned stealth movement and planning. With tech pistil and shotgun (one random suppressed pistol for stealth kills, hoping to find a tech version later)
bruhmomentyetagain
I hate them both so I just ignore Meyers in the beginning and let them kill each other.
OsnaTengu
Screw both of them tbh.
Easy_Mechanic_9787
I pledged to the NUSA so I guess I was stuck with them, went with Reed and saved her to give over to Myers. She’d tried to play both Myers, V and Hansen. I saved her, gave her over to Myers and got what I wanted and asked for. I also did my duty to the NUSA.
The Alien Isolation was my favorite part as it makes the Blackwall eldritch AI even better as an omnipotent threat to all life.
Party_Ad_863
I grant her wish, she will be tortured otherwise
BarApprehensive5837
Sent her to the moon because I guess it’s right, but really,I’d prefer to take the ai cure from her,put her to the moon without it,and go,yeah song you had to lie to get where you are sure, but if you’d been honest with me from the start I’d of helped you fully, the fact you lied to me,got my hopes up about a cure, said I could live, and then,THEN told me it was bullshit and only one of us could use it,well if you’d said that from the start, fine,no problem,I’ll help you,but lying to me about my chance at life until the last second, nah choom, that’s a gonk move
kloutkanister
Both endings are amazing, but I can’t side with Reed or the NUSA. The NUSA’s entire goal is to have someone with the ability to get to the Blackwall so they can do what they want, all under the guise of “ not starting another war “. Reed is convinced he knows what’s best for So Mi, while not seeing the fact that if she is returned alive she would basically be a droid— not even her former self. But to Reed, “ all that matters is that she’s alive “.
Anakhannawa
Killing her is the only way she’s surely safe in any outcome the game gives us. Every other for her is either dangerously vague or downright horrifying.

Kill her with gladness and singleness of heart.
