I’m gaming off of a laptop, but between Nintendo’s extra anti-consumerism as of late and Sony and Microsoft raising prices, I’m just gonna save for a pc proper.
Game companies? Dude the entire USA shit the bed within a month
BlackOutDrunkJesus
hate to break it to you but the graphics card market for PCs is horrendous rn

Console gaming has been dying since the eighth gen, it’s time to save up and move on to something worth your money.

>I’m just gonna save for a pc proper.

Are PC components not being affected or am I missing something?

I don’t know about you, but when the day comes I have to upgrade my computer just to keep up with AAA titles I’m fond of (like MonHun being one example), I don’t know if I can justify throwing down another $1000+, especially with the pacing GPU’s are costing right now. While I could take that same money, buy a console, and a bunch of games that will keep me tied over for a few years. I no longer have the luxury of throwing money at my PC whenever I want so console gaming might be the only way I game when the time comes, and my computer, if it’s still alive, will just be for whatever my steam library had before the breaking point.

The main reason I stick with PC is that a PC can do more then gaming. Plus nothing ever becomes truly obsolete. Backwards compatibility isn’t ever an issue that can’t easily be solved with a bit of software.
I’ve got a bit of a quiet day at work, between calls from clients, I’m sitting here playing Doom 2.

Who is going to tell him about PC hardware prices and Nvidia drivers these days? In fact, it makes a lot of sense financially to be a console player at the moment.

What anti-consumer thing did Nintendo do besides raise prices on specific games, when other game companies were already selling $70-$200 versions of games?

I was going to trade-in my PS5 and Series X that collect dust but they just went up in value so I’ll hang on to them!

I got my steam deck oled a year and two months ago and it has been a genuine miracle that’s revived my love of gaming. I don’t need a gpu. I don’t need enthusiasts telling me I need more. I certainly don’t need modern aaa games (the things that turned me off from gaming in the first place).
All I need is to have my games be playable and I’m good. The deck has only gotten better with some massive improvements being worked on that’ll make the experience even better.
I’ve been done with consoles since the wii which was my last console. After that I just didn’t care and my attitude towards consoles has constantly been rewarded with incredible experiences and an aligned morality that investing in open source software and repairable tech will lead to a much healthier and happier user base.
I know it ain’t for everyone but if the games you wanna play can work on it (my 240+ library has literally a single title that only doesn’t work in online mode which is incentive for me to play lol) then I highly recommend getting a steam deck. Even moreso the oled model for all the improvements it has over the original lcd version.
If not, then I wish you luck with whatever hardware you go with in the future. A laptop that runs at least some of your games is better than nothing and it’s great that you have that. I’m happy for you that you get to play on that.

Hate to break it to ya, but PC hardware is going up in price too. Hopefully you can get a hold of something soon
