The game is mid but bugs make it funny, so without bugs it would be just mid.

I prefer to call them “Acceptable exploits”
Melancholic_Starborn
Why would they view it that way?

I think the difference is that Oblivion’s bugs are legitimately quirky and I’m not sure if any of them are game breaking. Some of them are actually beneficial (see; flooding the Imperial City with watermelons using the arrow dupe glitch)

Tbf Oblivion’s bugs didn’t make the game literally unplayable like Cyberpunk on console was at release.
Trexton1
Oblivion’s bugs didn’t make the game unplayable though.

Jarvis, please install 1.0 Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4

Most bugs are ick, yet some bugs add ~flavor~

One is a remaster
The other isn’t.
One bloated the hype train to the moon,
The other kinda just flopped onto the market like a fish.

There’s a difference between bugs like swingset of death in GTA 4 and WoW’s corrupted blood incident.

it’s okay CDPR, I’ve still got 7658 copies of Untitled 18 that say we love your bugs just as much
Dangerousrhymes
Bugs are a feature in Bethesda games, why would you remove them?
HighlightFun8419
I literally lolled at this.

If CDPR only let me buy horse armor AGAIN for the lulz.

the bugs in oblivion are funny
PugnansFidicen
Oblivion has roly polys, caterpillars, and stickbugs, with occasional cute bumblebees that can mess you up but are mostly harmless
Cyberpunk on launch had hornets, mosquitos, scorpions, centipedes…the kind of bugs that only exist to ruin your day
BunbunTheJackalope
I played cyberpunk for the first time a couple weeks so I missed the horrors of the launch state of this game thankfully. I think the bugs that were still in the game honestly add an early 2000s Bethesda style charm to the game and gave me a lot of laughs tbh
Temporary-Fix5842
I actually don’t get it, because it’s made my playthrough hell. I’ve restarted twice.
Mogrey665
Imagine being piranha bytes (rip) calling your game a bugfest (gothic 3 indeed was) while the competitor with plenty quest breaking bugs getting praised and calling their bugs part of the charm.
ReclusiveMLS
Oblivion bugs are a funny voice line where they didn’t cut it right so you can hear the VA ask to try the line again. Cyberpunk bug is I parked my car next to a slightly raised bit of sidewalk so when I got out my feet counted as being underground so I got shot directly down under the map and died :/

Oblivion isn’t oblivion if you hit a guy with a hammer and he doesn’t go into orbit
Deskore
Oblivion jank has become nostalgic the game was from a time when games didn’t cost an entire God Emperors daily ration of souls to produce a game.
BusinessDuck132
People saying the bugs aren’t unplayable havent experienced some of the AMD hardware ones lol
High_Overseer_Dukat
Bethesda has put in bugs because the fans were mad they were removed. They get a bug pass.
Avallonkao
I think it’s more because of the tone, if I may say so. Oblivion bugs can do funny moments and memes, and I don’t think many players truly immerse themselves in that world as Night City. As for Cyberpunk, players are usually so immersed in the story and characters and the world that when bugs start to appear to break that immersion, it’s where it hurts. That is my opinion, at least.
ponce_delorean
Cdpr did great work to make cyberpunk the gem it is, but they could’ve gone without changing the picture of Rivers family in the hospital. That was the most valuable gem of them all
op23no1
Cyberpunk devs watching gamers not send oblivion remastered devs death threats for having bugs in their game
ElmoTickleTorture
I’m not on board with that. My first playthrough of the remaster ended prematurely because of a bug. Now I’m playing back to that point to make sure I have multiple saves beforehand in case it happens again.
Diewarp9
The difference is that while oblivion has game breaking bugs. They arent as prevalent or bad as cuberpunks. Go back to 1.0 and see what i mean. Not even ps4 1.0.
Macroplanet_
the original oblivion didn’t straight up crash frequently back in the day (i think)
Hominid_Digital
They took away scroll item duplication, which was one of the best glitches. I’m guessing they didn’t want to see how badly the upgraded engine would handle one thousand watermelons suddenly appearing in the arena.
