Back when the gaming media was still calling it the Xbox 2.

I remember reading that article and it stating that Bethesda was going to release it 6 months later and I didnt believe it. I played Daggerfall, and Morrowind prior to this write-up and knew how immense their games were. At the time developers were big on announcing early, like over a year early to get that hype ( Kojima for example), so I thought this announcement was BS. Well, they hit that target! 6 months later i was no- lifeing this game!

Ever since then, way back then, i always wished studios would do the same and would have kept the reveals way closer to the actual release date. They definitely exceeded that expectation with the Remaster!

I had this issue, but I remember it being a wrap around cover and looked different,

Also, the graphics look phenomenal in the screenshots, and I also saw that as a red flag. No way was a game this huge and with those graphics was gonna happen in that 6 month time frame. They looked SO much more advanced than Morrowind.

I was super – wrong about *all* that. Wish i still had my issue, glad you still have yours!

I love that Game Informer is back. As soon as they start printing the magazine again, it’s an instant sub. The fact that it’s no longer tied to GameStop is icing on the cake.

Back when the 360 was called the Xbox 2.

Little Mercenaries in the top left. Also a banger of a game.

I foolishly got rid of my Game Informer collection. I was subscribed pretty much continuously through the early 2000s. Fortunately, the scans for almost the entire run of the magazine are available online now.

Physical media is dying, so seeing this is a bittersweet moment! Keep it!

Hey, that’s cool. I would hold on to it.
