I mostly chalk it up to the infinite run duration. Makes it a game of culture and refinement. Not having to huff and puff through the woods for 30 hours.

Mixing games not easy lol but that’s true

Don’t forget paper Mario. That was my first thought with the block/parry system combined with turn based fighting.

This explains the gameplay very accurately. I’m 2 hours in and I’m already so hooked.

Other than checkpoints this is literally nothing like dark souls

I’ve not played any final fantasy games and almost zero turn based RPGs, never been on my radar, aside from paper mario/mario rpg if those count… How challenging is this game and would a newcomer have a good time if this was their first foray into turn based rpgs? Story sounds really interesting but I’ve never really cared about jrpg or rpg in general.

That’s a LOT of The Order!

And I like it. I liked that game. A pity it never got a fitting sequel

Btw, I think I may play it in French with English subtitles. Is that possible?

I’ve played 33 and it really exceeded my expectations. The game blends the French art movement and the Belle Époque atmosphere so well that it’s enjoyable to watch the atmosphere plainly. The visuals, made with Unreal Engine 5, are truly stunning.

The order 1886 is a hell of an ingredient, all things not considered
