A second Major, especially against a tough bracket will solidify his case. I think there was some stat like this, that Vitality has only beaten ONE top 10 (or maybe it was 20) in the Major playoffs, ever. That was a Cloud9 team in Paris or something.
That is why, the bracket matters a lot.
I think them winning the Major and Zywoo getting the MVP without the consideration of who they beat, might still be enough. But a good bracket, like defeating atleast one of Falcons, MOUZ, TS, FaZe (if this team manages to become good again) would be nice.

S1mple is literally the pro player who got me into this game with his flashy entertaining plays and he deserved his GOAT status at the time. However, the Woo is past that with this Grand Slam. Zywoo’s done everything that S1mple has done and still has more gas in the tank. Absolutely unreal that Zywoo still has several years of his career left and he’s already the most decorated player in the game
People nowadays completely forgot how good NEO and f0rest were in 1.6. It’s the same with football. People forget how good Pele and Maradona were. People also forget that times change thus it is impossible to compare difference things with each other. When Pele was the GOAT football didn’t even have cards yet and he got hurt every game and still managed to break records with his talent. Same counts for CS 1.6, it is a completely different game than GO/2.

and didn’t have close to as talented player around him like zywoo (or f0rest at the time). Also I am not a fan of s1mple because of his attitude but he was the GOAT in GO.
So we can’t say player X is the goat in entirety of CS. In 1.6 it was NEO closely followed by f0rest. In CSGO it was s1mple, sure closely followed by zywoo. CS2 is very young and not possible to say yet. There are a lot of player who are in talk of that like donk, monesy and zywoo. Currently I’d also say zywoo is the best but let some more years past by.
Edit: The whole “GOAT” debate people have to around 10-15 years is annoying. I remember nobody talked about it in the 90s or 00s. We just enjoyed people who were superhumanly good at something.

He is absolutely the GOAT. He is less flashy than s1mple but he is everything that I want to watch in a player. He is humble but confident, he is so versatile and reliable. To me, he is the all time best player.
It’ll take a lot for the likes of DONK etc, to overtake him. I think however is a contender needs to have YEARS of consistency at such a high level.

Let’s be real and stop pretending that the GOAT is singular status if accounted for 3-4 instances of the game (in NBA you have MJ, Kobe, Lebron – all are contender to be GOATs). No one can clear all games at this point. Too late for that conversation.

Pretty hard to compare different games and eras like that tbh.
While he doesn’t have the major on his belt yet, I believe Zywoo is the better player. Not only is his awp incredible but his rifle play might be just as good. While also a total alien, I think s1mple’s rifle play was not on the level of this guy. That clutch to save the game at under (B) with two players on two different levels of elevation might be the most ridiculous 1v2 I’ve ever seen.
To clarify, I’m specifically talking about CSGO/CS2 era. There is no doubt here in my mind.
For all versions of CS, f0rest is the GOAT of all versions of Counter-Strike. To follow up his dominance in 1.6 with a ridiculously long unbeaten streak in an extremely foreign engine (where the source guys had a huge leg up) is something completely on another level.
