What’s funny is this is probably how Nvidia is going to sell Neural Texture Compression. Ultimately their endgame is to have most if not all of the rendering pipeline done neurally. NTC, Neural Shaders and Neural Faces are kind of a big deal when it comes to 3D graphics and nobody’s really talked about them that much.

I’m not an expert by any means, but is this where they’ve run into the engineering problem where they can’t make the card more powerful without making it comically huge and needing to draw a ridiculous amount of electricity, so they’re trying to cope with the illusion of progress for as long as they can?
