Just buy another game you won’t play…

I stopped wasting my money on games that I didn’t play two years ago. It’s financial irresponsibility, and I know a lot of people here also buy games that they don’t play. When I played my backlog of games, I realized I missed out on a lot of great games. I regret that I didn’t play the game that I bought earlier. Now, I have a rule that I won’t buy another game before I finish my current one.

You play the new one you have bought.
    Rinse and repeat.

This has genuinely been my mood lately, I’m going crazy.

My counter attack is to sort by recent activity and scroll to the bottom and look for installed games that i haven’t played for years and just start it. Maybe i get hooked, maybe i remember why i stopped playing it. But i played a lot more games with that method recently.

I have hundreds of games I never launched on steam, hit the exact opposite issue on game pass. 9 games installed and no time to play them all.

Kerbal Space Program ain’t going anywhere. Kick back and plan a mission to the moon.

  9. Me who just got a 5090, playing less than before… WHATTT

  10. I load up steam. Look at my games and think to myself I don’t want to play anything pvp. Look at my single player games and realize I don’t want to play any of those either. Proceed to just watch YouTube videos until I pass out.

And some have single game in their library with thousand hours of playtime XD

Just hopped on itch.io and Roblox because I’m desperate, it was actually a very refreshing experience

    Been there.
Got a handheld a few weeks ago and finally started finishing my backlog whenever I get time to play.
Let’s hope this momentum is maintained

entirely a you problem. having just the feel of playing “something” is pathetic.

for example i feel like playing nier on hard tiday, maybe later wasting the evening with a “short” total war campaing, maybe i want some mechs and do another 500h of roguetech.

you people should value games more, they are not like random youtube videos you consume regularly.

I feel this, except after scrolling through my library I inevitably end up feeding my Destiny 2 addiction.

For a while I used a wheel of names, put in all my steam games (and some game epic gave for free ive never tried) and used to choose what to play.

it worked for a while for me

After 3 years, I’ve finally managed to be motivated enough to continue playing a single-player game I had to put on pause after getting a new job. After a couple play sessions, my thoughts are “Wow, why was this so daunting? Actually playing games from my backlog is fun”.

Obviously that shouldn’t be surprising, but actually being motivated to attempt to play something is harder than it should be at times.
